This is a free youth-led event created and planned by the Teen Program of Association House of Chicago. Activities will include raffle giveaways, refreshments, games and contests for children and youth, music, guest speakers, and much more. All funds raised from the raffle will be donated to Cease Fire to help their cause in mediating gang violence. This event will take place Friday, August 21, 2009 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Association House of Chicago, 1116 N. Kedzie 60651. ASSOCIATION HOUSEThis year Association House, 1116 N. Kedzie Ave., will celebrate 110 years of continuous service. What began as a settlement house started by Ellen Holt and social reformer Jane Addams in 1899, has gown into a community resource that provides a state-of-the-art technology center, job placement programs, and a safe haven for children and teens from one of Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods, as well as a food pantry.
