Tekes funds research, development and innovation activities with the aim of promoting the development of industry and services. Two thirds of the funding is channelled to research, development and
innovation projects of companies and one third to research projects in research institutes, universities and universities of applied sciences (=public research)
We fund pioneering projects and programmes that regenerate business and the public sector. Innovations help increase productivity

Applying for funding
Most of the funding for public research is channeled via specific application processes (application times)
• Application times for programmes
• FiDiPro application processes
• Standard annual application periods February/June/October
- New knowledge and business from research ideas- Strategic new research
• It is possible to apply for ERDF funding in connection with Tekes applications

Applying for funding
Funding can be applied for outside of the application periods:
• for company-led joint projectsWhen a research project is part of a joint venture between companiesand research institutes, in which the share of costs from company development projects is more than 50% of the costs of the joint venture, research funding should be applied for at the same time as companies apply for funding for their own R&D projects. In other words, the set application times do not limit application for research funding for these projects
← Funding for company R&D and innovation projects can be applied for on a constant basis
• Public research related to innovation projects
− Applications accepted on a constant basis
