Web 2.0
Web 2.0
A Web 2.0 site allows its users to interact with each other as contributors to the website's content rather than passive viewing of information.
Web 2.0 draws together the capabilities of client- and server-side software, content syndication and the use of network protocols.
Programming languages such as JavaScript are used to upload and download new data from the web server without undergoing a full page reload.
Web 2.0 Technologies
The client-side/web browser technologies typically used in Web 2.0 development are: Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) Adobe Flash and the Adobe Flex framework
Web APIs: REST SOAP
Open JavaScript/Ajax frameworks such as: Google Playground. Facebook API. MSN Messenger API.
It permits the user to continue to interact with the page asynchronously, i.e requests are separated from responses.
This also increases overall performance of the site.
