Line detection should be turned on so if lessthan four lines are used, the handset doesn’tgo to that unused line.
Using a PRO as a stand alonewithout a PBX
For a SOHO application the 4-line model can support a 4-line hunt group.
Make sure to separate the phone jacks so each jack has it’s own linebecause a two-line RJ-14 L1/L2 jack is not supported (see next slide).
Limitations: Two concurrent calls per handset. No voicemail. Cannot splitthe line and share with a non-EnGenius phone (but will join in on calls).

RJ11 Jacks (one jack per line/port)
Requires (4) RJ11 Cords
PBX/CO Interface
Crimp RJ11 connectors to 4prcable (CAT3/CAT5 ETC.)
Connect RJ11 Cords to Base Ports
One cord per line/port
Wiring tip: Each of the Line portsgets one pair and center pins only

DuraFon PRO default settings are“ring all” regardless of which line
port gets the call. Good forSOHO with roll over / hunt group,
but not good behind a PBX.Ext. 100Ext. 101Ext. 102Ext. 103

*On the PBX side via programming, if extension 500 is dialed, it first rings to 501. When 501 isbusy, rings to 502 etc.
*On the EnGenius side, note, with AA “ON”, phones will no longer ring right away, instead thecaller will hear one to two rings, then the AA will pick up. The customizable AA greeting is thenheard. The caller can then choose ID10-99 so to reach that specific person.* Maximum record greeting length = 128 seconds. Only one record greeting for all ports.
* The Auto Attendant feature is not available with the 1x model.
* Walkie handsets cannot get inbound calls including calls from the AA (only handset transferred calls).

How to program a port to a group
Only admin phones (ID 10 or 11)can program base stations
14
• To choose which base you want to dial out from.– The PRO system cannot do a signal check to know which base is best to
use for outbound dialing. Therefore it needs to chosen by the user.
• By default, handset base selection is “off”. When enabled, when the userpresses “talk” it will prompt them with “choose base”. They can then enter 00-07.
• For inbound calls, (assuming the line is tied in parallel and will ring at the sametime) there is no way to guarantee the closer base is the base the handset willstart the call with.
– Therefore unlike other systems where signal overlap is desired (for roaming andhandoff reasons), with the PRO system you actually do NOT want signal overlap.
• Reality is: It drives up cost and users many times don’t like these extraprompts and limitations. It is much better to try and get coverage with onebase, even if several antennas are required.
• This scenario is best when the two coverage areas are miles apart.
