History of Television

John Logie BairdThe first working television was demonstrated in March 1925 by John Logie Baird. 

The television was not invented by one person. Instead it was the inventions of two men that over time came together to become the first modern day television.

John Logie Baird of Scotland was the first to come up with the idea of a "television transmitter" and created the first television using the inventions of others.

Baird began to show off his invention, in 1923 and after some perfecting the television began to be commercialized. By 1936, the BBC began television broadcasting using the Baird television.

PHILO FARNSWORTH

In 1928, the young American Philo Farnsworth made the first (reliable and working) television system .By the 1940's televisions began to be mass produced and pretty soon nearly everyone had one.

THE HISTORY 1900, Tesla granted U.S patent. 1904, fleming invents the TV but not successful. 1906, first christmas Eve program was shown. 1912 , radio signal amplifier deviced launched. 1920, first scheduled commercial radio programmer launched. 1926, television system invented by John Logie Baird. 1947, transventor is invented. 1954, first coast-to-coast color TV transmission started.

TIMELINE HISTORY In 1862 Abbe Giovanna Caselli invents his pantelegraph and becomes the first person

to transmit a still image over wires. In 1906 Lee De Forest built a vacuum tube that worked in the first mechanical

working television. In 1940 peter Goldmark invents the first color television with 343 lines of revolution. In 1948 Cable Television was introduced in pennsylvania. In 1981 NHK demonstrates the HDTV which had 1,125 lines of revolution. In 1992 the first 21-inch full color plasma TV was introduced. In 2010 the First 3-D televisions were put on the market.

PTV has a lot to be proud of. Its lists of accomplishment is ever increasing and every achievement is a milestone in itself, like : * Salaat-o-Tarawih direct from Makkah during Ramadan * Launching of PTVs Web site on Internet * Special live interviews from Dubai, Saudi Arabia & New York * Taji Mori at 12,500ft, one of the world's highest transmitters.

NTM - A former Shalimar Television Network Channel

The Network Television Marketing was Pakistan's first ever private sector Television Channel. NTM had started its transmission in 1990 under a 3-year agreement with Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company.

NTM succeeded in acquiring much popularity for its plays, stage and music shows. NTM introduced lot of youngsters as comperes and announcers, like Sania Saeed, Atiqa Odho, Humayoon Saeed, Nadia Khan, Fakhr-e-Alam, Khalid Anum and many more.They have broadcast famous drama serials such as kashkool,Chand Girhan, Dasht and Nadan nadia edited by Liaqat Ali Khan.

NTM

NTM was closed down in 1999 because of continuous rivalary between government and the STN and financial crunch .

Later on Stn was purchased by Ptv and Channel 3 came out as a combined production of STN and PTV and satellite beam was introduced.

In 2004 Channel 3 went off air and Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company in an agreement with a private company SSI converted STN into ATV, a Shalimar rec.

PTN/STN started its broadcast with CNN international on terrestrial beam from Islamabad. Later on Karachi and Lahore stations started. 24 Hours Broadcast was agreed upon between CNN intn'l and PTN (STN) later BBC World also joined in. Some of the content of the CNN and BBC were censored though.

In 1990, the hours of STN was purchased by NTM from 7:00PM to 11:00PM daily and 6:00PM to 11:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Programes on NTM becomes big hit and the viewership rises to a significant number. Later on NTM also started morning transmission. After Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad STN started its station country wide.

assimilation and cultural erosion e.g.so forceful advertisements and idols that in today's world that almost all youngsters wear jeans, listen to music by iPod and eat KFC regardless their nationality and religion.

In order to make public taste and maximize profit, action Hollywood and Bollywood movies, Turkish teledramas are more and more pre dominant on TV programs so TV creates very false image of the world and people which destroy the young generation especially
