Since 2004, AFC Telford United has always been proud of its commitment to Youth and Schools Football in Telford & Wrekin.

AFC Telford United’s mission is to maximise its profile and social impact within the community in order to drive the

success of the club; however, we have always realised that this will never be achieved through working in isolation.

The Telford & Wrekin Football Partnership is a huge step forward in the evolution of the unique partnership between Schools, FE Colleges, Local Junior Clubs, Coaching providers, The Shropshire Football Association, The Shropshire Schools & Colleges FA, The Local Co-operative Council and Wolverhampton Wanderers. The partnership is a commitment from all that they will continue to deliver the best opportunities, in the best facilities to hundreds, if not thousands, of youngsters across the Borough of Telford & Wrekin.

The Telford & Wrekin Football Partnership reflects our values of integrity, inclusivity and excellence. It also embodies the spirit of partnership, co-operation and community that makes Telford such a unique town with huge untapped potential; potential that the partnership, shoulder to shoulder, will always endeavour to realise. Level 4 caters for the elite footballers (8 - 16 years of age) through the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy based at Compton. For those players unable to secure a scholarship with a Premier, Championship or Football League club there is a great opportunity for boys and girls to combine football development with an education programme through the two local post 16 Academies at TCAT Sports Academy (in association with New College) and Thomas Telford Football Academy.

All aspiring footballers have the opportunity to remain at the Academies for their higher education with each of the Academies associated with a University.

Players identified as potential professionals (either part or full time) will have the opportunity to train with the AFC Telford United First Team on an agreed session release basis whilst studying at their chosen Academy.
