Always strange to see a Christmas tree, where there is no snow!
![Page 11: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)

Roosters are not only seen all over, but heard all over...at 1:00 AM!
In Spanish this is called a gallo pinto...
![Page 17: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
That’s also the name of the national dish, which is beans and rice.
...and you have it everyday...breakfast, lunch AND dinner!

Many a day was spent shopping in León.
When building houses in 90° F heat people need LOTS of water!

No New Year’s celebration would be complete without fireworks in the street!
![Page 22: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)

...dancing!! Baile!!
![Page 24: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
After the celebration...back to work.
![Page 25: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
This morning’s workout...sifting sand! Burns at least 20 calories.
![Page 26: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)

Mother and all seven of her children!
![Page 28: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
...and these are Mercedes beautiful daughters. If you look behind them, you will see where they were living before we built their new home.
![Page 29: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
In Nicaragua, an education means a brighter future. Something families take very seriously, but not for granted!
![Page 30: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
One of the most important parts of the mission; getting children ready and able, to attend school.
![Page 31: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/31.jpg)
And celebrating their accomplishments.

Week Two: The beginning of Vacation Bible School
![Page 33: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/33.jpg)

Each morning began with skits. This is the story of Jesus healing a blind man. Apparently before Jesus came along...
![Page 35: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/35.jpg)
...an unsuccessful healer tried stickers!
![Page 36: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/36.jpg)
We played lots of games, like kickball, which the kids loved!
![Page 37: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/37.jpg)
As with any game, there are winners, and there are good sports willing to graciously accept a loss!!
![Page 38: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/38.jpg)
Overall, we had FUN, good spirits, and most importantly, snack!!
![Page 39: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/39.jpg)

![Page 41: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/41.jpg)
Everyone who lent a hand on the house building including the recipients of the new homes.

The blessing of the houses.
![Page 43: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/43.jpg)
A very moving, spirit filled, house blessing.
![Page 44: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/44.jpg)
Saturday, time to say, “Nos vemos en dos años,” because...
![Page 45: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/45.jpg)
...it was too hard to say, “goodbye!”
![Page 46: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/46.jpg)

![Page 47: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/47.jpg)
Roughest two days of the whole trip!
![Page 48: Telica Mission Trip](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062419/55a1da731a28abdb198b468c/html5/thumbnails/48.jpg)
