Dear Parents / Geagte Ouers The tempo of activities is tremendous and it is quite a feat to keep up with all of them. Ons nader nou vinnig die einde van ons somersportseisoen. Ons Graad 1 & 2 leerders is alreeds besig om hulle gereed te maak met vaardighede vir die wintersportsoorte – hokkie, rugby en netbal. Ons senior grade begin ook volgende week met hul voorbereiding vir wintersport – u het alreeds meer inligting van die sportkantoor ontvang. We have hockey and rugby teams preparing for their tours later this term – we wish them all good luck with their preparations. As ek verder terugkyk op die sport- en kultuuraktiwiteite van die eerste kwartaal, lig ek my hoed hoog en salueer elkeen se bydrae! Augustus plaasvind. If the entry fee is not paid, before or

Ons herinner graag die Gr. 4 ouers aan die dogters

se HPV inspuitings op Donderdag, 9 Maart 2017, in die

Oink. Dit begin om en by 09:00.

We would like to remind the Gr. 4 parents about the

girls’ HPV injections on Thursday, 9 March 2017. We

will start at approximately 09:00.

Please note that this is only a reminder and we regret

that no parents will be allowed at school when the

injections are administrated.

Oranjerivier gaan roei. Come and enjoy this educational adventure. There will be rowing, exploring

MARIMBA OUDISIES

We are starting another Marimba Band! ANY Gr. 2-7 learner who is interested in auditioning for this group must

please give their names to Mrs Burger before Wednesday, 8 March 2017. Oudisies sal op Vrydag, 10 Maart

gedurende skooltyd plaasvind. Leerders wat die oudisie slaag, sal voor 13:15 daardie dag in kennis gestel word.

They must please be available on Saturday, 11 March, from 11:30-13:00. Die leerders sal deel wees van ‘n

werkswinkel wat aangebied word deur Mev. Dawena Jonck van Laerskool Gonubie in Oos-Londen. Sy sal ook die

oudisies in samewerking met die musiekdepartement behartig. We are looking forward to welcoming more members

CHARITY SCHOOL SHOE PROJECT

If your child has outgrown his/her school shoes, please send them to school, from now till the end of

the 1st term 2017. Mrs Maryke van Wyk will be collecting used school shoes for children in need.

Although we live in the age of computers and cell phones, our learners still need to know the combinations from 2

to 20, eg. 9+3 and the times tables, up to 12 x 12, without having to work on their fingers or count. This is a basic

life skill! There is only one way to obtain this skill – by learning and repeating, repeating, repeating! Our learners

cannot do this on their own and the teachers do not have the time in class to attend to this. That is why all our Gr

1 – 4/5 learners need to complete the Maths Fun Books, as part of their homework. The Gr 1 learners will

receive their books later in the year.

Ons doen ‘n baie ernstige beroep op u, as ouers, om die personeel ASSEBLIEF in hierdie verband te

ondersteun! Elke kind van Gr. 2 tot 4 behoort elke dag ‘n tydjie af te staan om in hulle Wiskunde Pretboeke te

werk, behalwe die kinders wat reeds Boek 4 voltooi het. As jou kind in Gr. 5, 6 of 7 is en steeds nie sy/haar

kombinasies en/of tafels ken nie, is hulle welkom om ‘n boek by hulle klasonderwyser te kry om hulle hiermee te

help. Kom ons neem hande en maak van die projek ‘n sukses!
