The main project's objective is to contribute to the development of the North Adriatic Ports as points of interconnection between the sea transport and other modes of transport through the creation or improvement of hinterland access. Specific objectives of the action are:

- Carry out advanced analysis to prepare future investments in North Adriatic Ports and Motorways of the Sea

- Promote cooperation and agreements between ports, freight operators and inland terminals in order to improve the services supply

- Promote sea-rail freight intermodal efficient solutions and fostering the integration of ports into the Core Network Corridors and Rail Freight Corridors crossing the North Adriatic area

- Foster sea-river co-modal services and integration of the sea port of Venice and Chioggia into the Po river system

- Promote investments in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve the efficiency of the short sea shipping and its interconnection with other transport modes

The project will carry out studies and designs preparing major investments for the development of the North Adriatic ports hinterland connections (specifically railway and inland waterways) and port-sea access, specified in four main technical activities: - Railway links - Maritime access - Inland waterways connections
