Construction of New School: ProgressMany parents and students have voiced interest in the progress of our new purpose built school in Meru Raya, currently under construction and expected to be completed in September 2013. We will now start to provide a monthly update with pictures of the progress made.

As of 16 October 2012, the school is 16% completed, which is 2% ahead of the schedule.

Payment of Term Fees – New scheduleE�ective September 2012, the new schedule for the payment of term fees is as follows:-- Payment by cash/ cheque/ credit card must be made 2 weeks before the term begins- �e 1st Reminder will be issued 2 weeks a�er the school has started.- �e Final Reminder will be issued 2 weeks a�er the 1st Reminder.

�ere will only be 2 reminders not 3 as practised previously. �e Final Reminder will inform you of the exclusion of the child from class if the fees are not paid by the date stated in the letter.For enquiries or assistance on this matter, please contact the school o�ce at 05-2538530.

Extra Literature Classes for Year 11�e school is conducting extra classes for Literature for students sitting for the IGCSE examination in June 2013. �e details of the classes are as follows:Day : Every FridayTime : 12.45 – 1.45 pm (a�er regular school hours)Venue : English Room 1Teacher : Ms Nithiya

�e �rst class will commence on Friday, 12 October, 2012 and will continue until the end of the Spring Term 2013 or until such time the teacher indicates otherwise. Attendance is compulsory once the student has registered for these classes.

Main O�ce Closure During October & November 2012Please take note that the Main O�ce will be closed on 27 October 2012 due to Hari Raya Haji holiday and also for all Saturdays during November 2012 as the sta� will have sta� development.

Collection of Year 1 & 2 ChildrenCollection of Years 1 and 2 children at the end of the school dayPlease be informed that ALL Year 1 and Year 2 children should be collected from the designated area during the allotted gate opening times and by either parents/guardians or senior brothers or sisters, and not by other children who are still in primary school. Any other collection point is only to be used a�er the co-curricular activities or enrichment classes when the Key Stage 1 gates are closed. �is system is in place to ensure your children’s safety and to allow teachers to keep track of their whereabouts.

Road Safety ConesPlease be reminded that stop cones are placed to ensure the safety of both students and parents who are walking within the school grounds. �e cones are only to be removed by a member of sta�. �e removal of these cones by drivers has almost resulted in a child being knocked down. If this continues, the drive-in gate will not be opened until school has �nished.

Sports Fixtures at ELC InternationalTenby Schools Ipoh’s U16 Boys and Girls Football Team and U16

Basketball Team travelled to Sg Buloh to play in a friendly �xtures with host ELC International School on 12 October 2012. �e students, especially the football players practised hard to prepare for this friendly. �e results of the friendly were:-

Hari Raya Cookie Project and Gotong Royong ActivityInteractors of Tenby Schools Ipoh organized a community service activity at the Perak Society of the Promotion of Mental Health. �e day started with a gotong royong at the rambutan orchard and orchid nursery.

�e Perak Society of the Promotion of Mental Health’s President, Dato’ Dr Majumder, was happy that young children are aware of the community needs and appreciated the presence of our Interactors among the residents. She added that good mental health is equivalent to good health. Organizing Chair of the Hari Raya Cookie Project, Int. Warunya thanked the centre for giving them the opportunity to do community service.

Int. Jaycharan, Organizing Chairman, divided the duties and the gotong royong activity was conducted successfully. Later, Interactors presented songs and a dance to entertain the residents of the centre. Before ending the activity, Interactors visited the workshop and bought some sourvenirs.

Visit by Rotary International District 3300 District Govenor

Rotary International District 3300, District Governor Mansoor Saat made his annual visit on 8th October 2012, to the Tenby Schools Interact Club, under the sponsor club of Rotary Club of Greentown.

�e District Governor was briefed on the Interact Club activities with a slide presentation by President Vanya Verma. In her speech, the President informed that the club will be organizing a community service activity outside school at the Perak Society for the Promotion of Mental Health, a service the Interact Club takes part for di�erent NGOs every Interact Year.

District Governor, Mansoor Saat in his speech told the Interac-tors to read about the mission and vision of Interact Club. He further informed that there were four main features in the mission which could be summarized to leadership, community service, international understanding and character building. He encouraged the club to organize activities to enhance the Rotary International 2012-13 theme “Peace through Service”.

An Induction Ceremony was held to recognize four new members to the club who have completed their three months probation. �e members, Jessica Lau, Ezilaan Irraivan, Celeste Tan and Ravnit Kaur were inducted by District Governor Mansoor Saat.

Educational Trip to Pusat Sains Negara, Selangor An educational trip has been organized for students of Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 to visit the Dinosaurs Live! Exhibition held at Pusat Sains Negara in Bukit Kiara. �e exhbition features some 30 live size, animatronic dinosaurs that are able to move and roar with natural, life-like movements. �is trip has been chosen as it will not only impact the IPC programme which the students are learning, but to also help students develop research skills using di�erent resources.

�e students will be going by chartered bus on Tuesday, 30th October 2012. �e schedule is as below:

�e teachers who will be accompanying the students are their Class Teachers.

A payment of RM60.00 (for entrance and transportation costs) and the parents’ consent form are to be handed in to the class teachers at the latest by Tuesday 23 October 2012. Please bear in mind this amount of RM60 is dependant on the �nal number of students going on this trip.
