Power DistributionThe power supply on the TenByTen6410 is designed to be distributed, each power section is supplied with its individual power supply chip controlled by PWERON signal. Thus only active when needed. In sleep mode most power supplies are switched off.Power Supply ModeThere are two power supply interfaces on the TenByTen6410: 1) one black power socket J12) one white 2.0mm pitch 3pin connector J2Thus the power can be supplied in two ways:1) by 5V/2A power supply unit via J1DC-IN socket2) by 5V/3A external power supply via J2 and cables
Power Supply SchematicPower supply on the TenByTen6410 can be roughly separated into
two parts:
1) power for the S3C6410 CPU and2) for peripheral modules
The S3C6410 processor I/Os are set to 3.3V for easy access to common 3.3V aware devices. The mobileDDR RAM is set to 1.8V. Specialized power supplies provide power for the S3C6410 CPU core, including VDD_ARM, VDD_INT and VDD_xPLL, etc.. controllable power chips are used on the TenByTen6410 for the S3C6410 processor, VDD_INT and VDD_ARM can be controlled by the PWREN signal to make sure that the TenByTen6410 starts in compliance with the S3c6410 power-up timing.Voltage of each power supply is shown as below:

The toggle switch SW2 is designed for selecting boot mode:
The OM0 signal is the clock source selecting signal of S3C6410, when the OM0=0, XTIpll is used, while when OM0=1, EXTCLK is used. The TenByTen6410 uses XTIpll. The SELNAND signal selects the type of Flash, when using NAND Flash, the power level has to be high as ‟1‟, while using ONENAND, the power level has to be low as ‟0‟. One the TenByTen6410 we use NAND Flash, the power level of SELNAND is high.
EINT13~EINT15 selects device for IROM boot (i.e., SD Card boot on the TenByTen6410) mode, when the system boots in IROM mode, the S3C6410 first run the in-chip ROM

program, read the status of EINT13, EINT14, EINT15, and then select the boot device according to the status (see the table above). On the TenByTen6410, SD Card boot mode uses IROM. When booting from SD card, the power level of EINT13, EINT14, EINT15 have to be set as Low.
The DBGSEL signal set the JTAG interface, see the JTAG chapter for details. OM1~OM4 set the S3C6410 boot mode, see detailed settings in the above table. The toggle switch SW2 controls the OM1~OM4 signals, by setting the SW2 switch we can select the boot mode accordingly, see the table below:

InterfacesNAND FlashThe SLC NAND Flash on the TenByTen6410 is the Samsung K9F2G08UOM (256MB), and uses the CS1 chip selection of the S3C6410. You can order may different sizes of NAND from Hiteg Ltd. via Hiteg's web site. In addition to the legacy SLC NAND Flash devices Hiteg also provides the modern MLC type NAND Flash with a special version of WinCE 6R3. The provided WinCE Software version embeds a new Flash File System from SAMSUNG for WinCE which guarantees reliability and speed up to devices of 16GByte size. Hiteg is not allowed to provide the Flash File System in source code, thus the WinCE BSP is partly delivered in binary format. This includes eBoot (MLC version) and parts of the kernel. The SLC version is a open BSP. At this point we advice all our customers to use MLC NAND devices in conjunction with WinCE for reliability reasons. If the customer decides to use SLC NAND with WinCE we highly suggest to embed a Flash File System like YAFFS2, which might have to be licensed by you and might add additional costs. Hiteg is not responsible for data losses on NAND chips.Linux users are encouraged to favor SLC over MLC as with YAFFS2 an excellent performing File System is avail able ( free of charge ). The NAND Flash is mainly used for storing kernel, filesystem, applications and datas. For the convenience of expanding the capacity, the TenByTen6410 is also designed to support quad-chip selection NAND Flash chips using CS2, CS3 as well as two GPIO pins (GPP13, GPP14). The NAND Flash can be used as boot source. When booting, the S3C6410 microprocessor copy the first 8K code of the NAND Flash to the Stepping Stone space in the S3C6410 and executes it, the main task of this code is to copy the remaining code of the boot loader from NAND space into RAM. Once done, main() get’s executed and “normal” execution takes place.
http://www.hiteg.com TEL: ++86-755-28125870 E-mail: [email protected]
When booting from NAND Flash, the S3C6410 simultaneously configure both CS2 and CS3 as the NAND Flash chip selection, therefore the CS3 can not be used to controll other bus devices beside the NAND Flash chip.

UARTSFour UARTs are avail able on the TenByTen6410. All UARTS are accessible as TTL 3.3V, UART0 is extended to RS232 signal level and is avail able on a standard 9pin RS232 connector. One SP3232 chip is used to convert the TTL levels to RS-232.The UART0 is designed to be debugging serial port led out by DB9 male socket (J16, RS232), through which the TenByTen6410 can be connected to the PC to display debug information.Schematic of UART0 is as shown on the left:
UART1 (J14), UART2 (J13), and UART3 (J12) are designed to be application serial ports, whose power levels are TTL. UART3 signals (TXD3 and RXD3) can be configured to be handshake signals for UART2, thus becoming RTSn2 and CTSn2. If you need all UARTS on RS232 level, Hiteg Ltd. provides needed level shifter plus cable.
The on-board RS232 is, as its sister on the MINI2440v2 crossed, thus a straight cable is needed, not an NULL-Modem cable. Hiteg ships with each board such a cable.
USB HostUSB Host interface on the TenByTen6410 supports the USB1.1 protocol in low and full speed, it can be used for connecting memory stick, USB hard disks, USB mouse, USB keyboard and other USB devices. As unique
feature of the TenByTen6410 the 5V USB power supply can be controlled by the S3C6410 using GPIO (GPE3). Thus malfunctioning USB devices can be reseted or powered off to save energy.

USB OTGUSB OTG is an USB2.0 interface using MINI USB A/B type interface (CON2), it supports the highest operation speed at 480Mbps and comes with full OTG support. Therefore it can act as an USB 2.0 host on OTG ready devices. Several Operating systems support the OTG features. Please consult the OS manual pages for further details. During development the USB OTG can be used to transfer data from PC to the TenByTen6410 using the provided DNW tool. DNW also acts as Terminal software to interact with the board through RS232.NOTE: In OTG HOST mode, the power is limited to 300mA. That means you can not drive an external USB device exceeding this limit. In case of an external hard drive, please make sure that the drive comes with an independent power supply. USB sticks or some SSD drives should be fine however.
JTAG InterfaceA 5x2 pin connector is used on the TenByTen6410 as JTAG interface. On the S3C6410 the JTAG interface is able to communicate with either ARM11core or external devices like NAND or NOR flash. DBGSEL signal determines which device the JTAG interface is communicating with. When the power level of DBGSEL is set high, the JTAG interface connects to external devices; when the power level of DBGSEL is set low, the JTAG interface connects to the ARM11 core. On the TenByTen6410 the power level of DBGSEL can be set by a resistor, default HIGH by resistor R56. An low signal can be achieved by unsoldering R56 and place it at R64 on the PCB.

Camera InterfaceThe S3C6410 supports ITU-R BT 601/656 8bit mode cameras and supports up to 4096x4096 pixels resolution. The camera interface has been led out as a 20pin Hirose FH12-20S-0.5H connector (con5).Beside the CAMERA signal, the camera interface also contains I2C and a GPIO signal (CAM_PD/GPP14). I2C is needed for configuring most camera devices, therefore it is added to to make the camera interface applicable for most of cameras. The camera power can be controlled by the S3C6410 via GPIO pin.

LCD & Touch Screen InterfaceThe LCD connector on the TenByTen6410 is a 40pin Hirose FH12-40S-0.5H connector (touch screen) connector. The LCD power (5V) can be controlled via GPIO through the S3C6410. The LCD connector is designed to enable the traditional RGB parallel interface with 24bit and clock signals as well as the new memory bandwidth saving i8080 interface. If the i8080 interface is configured two independent LCD displays can be controlled. Please note that not all displays support this feature, Hiteg Ltd. develops/sells currently i8080IF enabled displays in the size of (3.5” portrait (480x800px), 3.5” wide (320x240px), 4.3” wide (480x272px), 5” wide (800x480px) and 7” wide (800x480px). All display types from Hiteg Ltd. are equipped with a resistive touch screen. The 7” display can be ordered with capacitive touch screen support as well. To communicate with devices on the display board the TenByTen6410 features an I2C-Bus on the LCD connector. This can be used
to read Displays EEPROM or communicate with various devices, like Atmel AVR48pa ( backlight control on older devices), capacitive touch screen controller, etc.

10/100MBit EthernetA 10/100Mbit ethernet is integrated on the TenByTen6410 using an Davicom DM9000AE ethernet chip. While developing on the TenByTen6410, the ethernet interface can be used to download WinCE image, the Linux kernel and/or the root filesystem and so on. A cross-over ethernet cable is shipped together with the TenByTen6410, which can be used for connecting the TenByTen6410 and the PC directly; The power supply for the ethernet chip can be controlled via GPIO through the S3C6410.When connecting the TenByTen6410 to a Hub or Modem, please use a straight ethernet cable. The DM9000AE interrupt signal uses the S3C6410 external interrupt signal: EINT7.
CVBS & S-VIDEOA 3pin 2.0 pitch connector is used as video output (CVBS) interface and a 4pin 2.0mm pitch connector is used for S-VIDEO out, as shown in the photo below. Both signal amplifiers can be switched on or off independently via GPIO, please note that S-VIDEO uses both amplifiers, thus disable DAC_OUT0 and enable DAC_OUT1 makes not much sense. However if CVBS signal quality is enough and the device has to run on battery backup, disable DAC_OUT1 amplifier might save some critical seconds.
