TENNIS NEWS

2021 SPRING JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAM Tennis is a lifetime sport and if learned properly provides healthy recreation and social enjoyment. Over the past several years our junior program has really advanced. We have many juniors that have developed a true passion for tennis. The staff has designed what we think is a successful blueprint for junior development: • If kids have fun at tennis class they come back. • If kids come back long enough they will develop better skills. • If kids develop better skills they will become good tennis players. The staff at Turtle Point will work hard to see that your child develops good skills and proper stroke mechanics. We hope you will join us in the Spring 2021 Junior Program. The spring program will accommodate all juniors ages 4 and up. The first week of instruction will be March 1st. Everyone will receive 6 weeks of lessons, games and drills. TENNIS APPRENTICE This has become an incredible program for our area over the past 4 years. It is so much fun and beneficial to start the game of tennis with a group of people similar in ability. Tennis Apprentice is a 6 week beginner program on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm. This program is run through the USTA. Each participant will receive a free racket and their 1st year of USTA dues. The 2021 program will start the 1st or 2nd Monday in April. Call to be added to our contact list and be sure to encourage others to join the fun.

SAN DESTIN TENNIS TRIP This should be a fantastic tennis trip that everyone can

attend. Scheduled for April 15-18. San Destin bills this

as the Dream Team Tennis Getaway.

The tentative schedule would look something like this:

• Friday - 2 hour tennis clinic and 2 hours of match play

• Saturday – 2 hour tennis clinic and 2 hours of

match play

• Sunday – Optional 2 hour round robin

The Tennis package is $325 per person. We will take

reservations for the tennis clinics and then work out

accommodations which you pay for yourself. The San

Destin Hilton and TOPSL Resort Condos will work for

everyone. These locations are very close together and

right on the water. Call for more information.

HOLE IN ONE CLUB Turtle Point has a Hole in One club. If you are in the club and a golfer in the club makes a Hole in One; you are billed $5. The ace maker gets the prize total as credit in the Golf Shop. Call the Golf Shop to sign up. There is no cost unless someone in the club makes a Hole in One.

TURTLE CUP INFORMATION Once again we will award points to members who compete in our events. Players will get points for participation and for winning or placing in their flight in the event. We will keep a Tally Board on the bulletin board. Season long winners will be awarded prizes at the final golf event. GUEST FEE DISCOUNT CARD In February, the Golf Shop will be selling a Guest Fee Discount card. The card will be $500 and it will allow you to bring ten guests anytime during the year. The card will expire on December 31, 2021. You may use the card throughout the year bringing an individual guest out or you may use it a few guests at a time. Cards will not be sold after February. This gives you a $450 discount over our regular in-season guest fee of $95. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CART FEE. Local guests may only play Turtle Point once a month. Call the Golf Shop for more information.

CATERING CORNER

Covid-19 has been really hard on everyone this year – including our special events. Turtle Point is closing out the month of December with fewer Christmas parties than ever in history due to this pandemic. We strive daily to keep Turtle Point a safe and clean place for members to enjoy. Thanks to everyone who was able to still have their special event at the club. This year looks promising for gathering together again. Looking forward to kicking it off with events like our annual Seafood Buffet Night – formerly Cape Cod, Valentine’s Dinner, Wine tasting, and Commodores Ball. Don't forget Easter April 04, 2021. The Easter Bunny will be hopping around the club. Check your email for more information. Always remember big or small events give Ms. Altha a call. "Wishing You and Your Family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year"

As we put 2020 in our wake, we can all agree that it has

been a difficult year. Looking forward we can only

hope for better days. On a positive note we had the

oportunity to welcome new boaters to our marina.

Boating is a great way to relax, distance and enjoy the

beauty of our water ways. Going into 2021, our marina is full and we will

begin our much needed maintanence projects soon. We ask that all

boaters be patient with us as we make these improvements. If anyone has

any maintanence issues with their slips, please contact me or the front

office so we can

include them

in this project.

I hope everyone

will mark you

calenders for

March 20th and

plan to attend

our 2021

Commodores

Ball. We all

hope things will

get back to

normal by the

spring and we

can start

scheduling our

Boater's

Weekend and

other acitivities

at the marina.
