Mathematics, Science & Digital Technology Numeracy

Diagnostic Testing

Each Term we give students a page of Mathematics questions to complete. Their responses gives teachers an insight into their mathematical thinking. It helps us to find out what they know, what they need to learn and what they think about some maths concepts. We plan our mathematics programs using this data, our school assessment schedule and the Australian Curriculum as an important guide.

These diagnostic tests have been done and our plans for Term 2 developed. We will do the test again at the end of this term to measure individual growth.

Digital

Technology

Digital Technology is being taught and assessment trialled in order to prepare YSS for full implementation, assessing and reporting in 2020. Years 3—6 will do so in Semester 1 with the assistance of our Digi Tech Ambassador Mr Frangos and Teacher eLibrarian Mr White.. We have the Laptop Lab, Maker Space and eLearning Lounge in the library for classes to access. Prep—2 are building ICT capabilities and will implement Digital Technology in Semester 2.
