The end of another busy term, as always thanks to those of you who have helped us out in any way. It is very much appreciated. Hopefully many of you will have taken the opportunity to attend the Matariki Lantern Festival on Wednesday evening. It is always a wonderful evening and those who do attend certainly enjoy the activities.

BOBBY PANSTERS On Friday we say farewell to Bobby Pansters who has been part of Raumati Beach School for the past 12 years. Bobby has contributed a great deal to RBS during his time here and has certainly added his own unique flavour and style to school life for all of us. As well as being a classroom teacher, Bobby was also a Team Leader and worked to develop the Boys Support programme. Bobby is leaving teaching to explore new opportunities and while we are sad to see him go we are looking forward to catching up on the next set of adventures he is planning. We wish him all the very best for the future.

CONGRATULATIONS! William Thomson-Coe and Harry Skelsey have been selected for the Horowhenua-Kapiti U12 representative team for the Heartland Championship 2019 season. Both players trialled and were amongst a group of 48 kids. They were then selected into the final squad of 24 for this seasons games, against Wanganui, Wairarapa Bush, Dannevirke and Manawatu. Congratulations boys and all the best for the season!

HELP NEEDED: CALENDAR ART FUNDRAISER 2020 Every year RBS runs a Calendar Art Fundraiser where your children’s amazing artworks get turned into calendars and other items that you can purchase to keep or give away as gifts. It’s a great fundraiser for our school. We’re looking for a new volunteer/s who can help Mum Ryl Gormack run the fundraiser as she unfortunately no longer has as much time to devote to the calendars. It is an online based system so it is much easier now and Ryl is happy to show you the ropes. Please come and see us at the office and we will get you in touch.

GORGEOUS, GLAMOROUS AND HANDSOME! Each year, the Year 8 students celebrate the end of their primary schooling by attending a formal dance in our school hall. They take the opportunity to dress up, looking gorgeous and too grown up! Over the last couple of years, we have collected a range of formal wear to support students and their families by providing free dress hire for the dance evening. We would appreciate any donations to build our stocks (dresses, shirts, dress pants, jewellery, dress shoes etc). Items can be dropped into room 21 or left at the office. Thank you everyone! RAUMATI BEACH SCHOOL APP We have a new mobile app available to all parents. This is available by going to https://raumatibeach.apps.school.nz/share/ and following the instructions to download it. Once you have chosen RBS as your school the app retains that information. This app will replace the ‘messagemyway’ emergency sms service as well as providing links to the school newsletters, calendar, Kindo Shop, and the absentee line.

STUDENT PROFILE SHEET UPDATE Student Profile sheets will be coming home next term for each individual student. Can you please check all your personal information and make any changes you have to each sheet and return to the office as soon as possible. If your details haven’t changed, it is still important to return each sheet so we have it on file in case of emergency.

SPANISH LESSONS A fabulous opportunity for your child to learn from native speakers in a warm, friendly and fun class. 2019/2020 ENTERTAINMENT MEMBERSHIPS The 2019/2020 Entertainment Membership is now on sale through the office. Once again you can choose either a hard copy book or a digital membership. Our school receives $13 from the purchase of every membership which will go to fundraising for items students have identified. Memberships are $65.

UNIFORM SHOP There is still a range of good second hand polar fleeces on sale for $10.00 in the uniform shop. A reminder also that as of Term Four uniform purchases will all be made online directly through our supplier, Argyle. More information regarding this move will follow. Term Three will be the last term that second hand uniform is sold through the uniform shop.

ANZ AWARDS CENTRE For every home loan over $50,000 drawn down with ANZ, our school can earn 800 credits to spend at the ANZ Awards Centre. 800 credits equates to approximately $400 of purchasing power and can be redeemed for your choice of items in computer technology for our school. Thank you to those who have nominated our school when getting a new mortgage at ANZ.

BORROWED CLOTHES A reminder to please return any uniform items borrowed from the medical room – we would appreciate these items back so other children may use them.

Sams Art House, 6 Tongariro St, Paraparaumu Term 3 - We have been open now since Feb 2019 and our Art and Drawing Classes are filling up with fabulous, creative kids!
