Dear Parents, Congratulations to our Year 3 and 5 students who worked so well during NAPLAN testing last week. This snapshot of achievement in literacy and numeracy will provide our school with some useful data on learning improvements within our school. The data, when available, will also assist us in being able to analyse the progress that students make through the year levels. The tests have now been sent away for marking. The results should be available towards the end of next term. First Eucharist/ Confirmation This evening we have Confirmation taking place in the Church. The following students from our school will be Confirmed by Father Kerry Crowley: Alex Baston, Flynn Crema, Cohen Emmi, Jayvee Feild, Jhade Feild, Dakota Franich, Faye Giblin, Reese McNamara, Tayla Milini, Lachlan Morris, Regan Nash, Rosey Solien, Taylah Steinhofer, Dion Villaruz, Ava Wilkinson and Anthony Zonta. These students will then make their First Eucharist this Sunday. I would like to wish them all the best as they make this important faith journey in their lives. Sport Last Sunday the Peninsula Boys and Girls Under 12 Touch Football trials were held. The girls team won all of their games on the day while the boys team finished third overall. Well done to our students who were involved. Lucy Berge, Scarlett Jackson and Ben Smith were then selected in a Peninsula squad which met yesterday. Lucy and Ben were selected in the Peninsula teams. SEL Student of the Week…

From the APRE’s Desk Welcome*** Community *** Hospitality***

Welcome The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity and

undoubtedly the least understood member. Christians can

easily identify with God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit, however, without a body and a personal

name, seems distant to many, yet it dwells inside every true

believer and is a constant companion in the walk of faith.

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, the day that symbolises

the end of Easter. On this day we celebrate the gift of the

Holy Spirit, a gift from God to all people, completing the

trinity in our everyday lives. Pope Francis said “the Holy

Spirit is the strength of God; it’s what gives us the strength

to go forward, pushing us along a path of faith”. Amen to

that!

Come Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and

kindle in them the fire of your love.

Let us pray.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did

instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the

same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever

enjoy His consolations.

Through Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

Community This week we also celebrate the Sacraments of Confirmation

and Holy Communion with candidates and their families

who have been preparing to receive these Holy Gifts over

the past few months. It is a wonderful celebration of faith,

community and God’s presence….the sacramental

candidates I see at school are very excited and it’s

celebrations like these that reaffirm and nurture their faith

journey and friendship with Jesus. We congratulate the

following candidates;

Alex Baston, Erin Blennerhasset, Brett Brunello, Flynn Crema, Cohen Emmi, Jayvee Feild, Jhade Feild, Sasha-May Flegler, Dakota Franich, Faye Giblin, Reese McNamara, Tayla Milini, Lachlan Morris, Regan Nash, Rosey Solien, Taylah Steinhofer, Brendan Verri, Dion Villaruz, Ava Wilkinson and Anthony Zonta . On behalf of our school and parish, I would like to thank

Tania Gilbert and Judy Dore for their energy and generosity

in assisting parents in preparing their children for these

Sacraments. We are so very blessed to have such an active

Parish.
