Changes to Direct Deposits Our school is one of 229 schools in NSW who are piloting the new school finance and student management systems which will roll into our school in Term 4. As a result of this, we will not have a bank account which parents can deposit money into, therefore payments for anything starting Term 4 can only be made by cheque or cash at the office. Balances of Term 4 excursions after this week must be made at the office. It is really important that NO direct deposits are made after Friday 20th September 2013 as there is no account for it to go into. We can’t stress enough how important this is, thanks.

AASC Activities term 4 We will be offering Kindergarten swimming lessons (no need to put your name down) details will be coming home soon. Some cost will be involved. TERM 2 WEEK 10

Vice President’s Report Next P and C meeting is on Wednesday 16th of October at 6pm in the school staff room. Everybody is welcome to come along for a chat and some supper. Hope to see you there. Congratulations to all the performers at music@millthorpe on Thursday night. It was a very entertaining night and the talent in our school is amazing! Well done and thank you to all the musicians and their teachers. Millthorpe Markets should be on your calendar by now. Sunday December 1st is our major fundraiser and with the school growing at such a substantial rate and so quickly it is important for the P and C to have the funds for interactive whiteboards, home readers, classroom equipment, library books, audio visual equipment, sports kits, musical instruments and much more that the children and teachers need. In between the markets, excursions, school photos and P and C meetings in your diaries can you fit in a day at the canteen? This valuable service can only operate with the help of volunteers and the children love to see the face of Mum, Dad, Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles in the canteen. Jo has the place running to a schedule that is easy to follow and she’s there to help all day so it’s more of a fun social day than hard work and you get a free lunch! Please consider helping out. The P and C would like to wish you all a safe and happy holidays. We hope you and your children enjoy the break before a busy term four kicks off. Johannah

I was going to close on Friday due to lack of helpers, but I have twisted Andrew’s arm so we can stay open for the last day of term. But I really need 1 more helper to share the load! Can you help??? I’m quite disappointed with the lack of responses to the Term 4 roster. I am going on holidays for weeks 2 & 3 of the term and really need October sorted before the term starts, otherwise I will need to close the canteen for these weeks. Term 4 is traditionally a busy term in the canteen with lots of fresh wraps and salads that require more preparation hence helpers are a must. PLEASE contact me today or drop your availability slip from the note sent home into the office before the end of term. Then I can stop stressing and enjoy the holidays and so we can continue to provide healthy and fresh food to the kids and staff of MPS.

Please call/text me on 0417 284 383 or email me on [email protected]

School Photo Envelopes are coming home today! School photo day is Term 4 Week 1 on

Thursday 10th October. So your envelopes and money ideally need to be back at school by the end of next week, or at the

latest Wednesday 9th October! If you don’t have your envelope in before photo day you may miss out! If you would like a Family

photo form please collect from the office! Thanks!

School Banking Update: Redeem your tokens for a moneybox this year!

In 2014 the School Banking program will be launching a new set of exciting reward items for students to redeem their tokens for. Each reward item will continue to be valued at 10 tokens (i.e. 10 deposits) and there will be two new reward items for students to choose from each term.

With exciting new reward items on offer in 2014, please be aware that the Dollarmites moneyboxes will no longer be available next year. To avoid any child missing out on claiming their moneybox, please let your children know of this change and encourage them to redeem their moneybox this school year.

In an effort to ensure your child doesn’t miss out, the rule of one money box per year has been removed. If your child is trying to collect the series of Dollarmite moneyboxes, they are encouraged to do so before the end of the school year. Please understand that the still need to redeem each moneybox for the required 10 tokens.

If there are any parents who are free on a Wednesday to help out with fluency (doesn’t matter what time, just whatever works for you), please contact Helen Gray at school on 63663104, thanks!
