What’s in a day?

During this weeks drama session with Mrs Zachest we explored puppetry using our calico dolls. Each child manipulated their own doll to carry out a day in the life of themselves. The children were encouraged to work in pairs to create conversations and practise asking questions to each others.

What is a Morning Meeting?

A morning meeting is an important part of our program where we gather as a community of learners. As educators we consider this a valuable time and see ourselves as equal learners with the children. During a morning meeting children and educators have the opportunity to share ideas, ask

questions, clarify understandings, challenge thinking and hypothesise. We all get a chance to share our ideas. We sit in a circle so we can see each

other and show our respect to the person who is speaking. All ideas are valuable and add to our discussion and we appreciate the

creativity and imagination the children bring to these discussions. At times, ideas or contributions may seem out of context but when the children are given more time and opportunity to use verbal and non verbal methods of

explanation their ideas become contextualised.
