Harrington Park Public School had a wonderful Education Week. We
were very proud to open our classrooms to our community as well as
share our performance groups at our assembly. Thank you to those
who could take the time to share our day.
Our P&C have continued to support our students learning needs.
Most recently we have had to replace a number of electronic
whiteboards unexpectedly. Our school has always been well
resourced but we are at a point in the school’s lifecycle where we
need to update some aspects. The P&C through their tireless efforts
and our communities support of their fundraisers, are well placed to
help us replace these items so we can continue to support our
students in classrooms.
Over the next few months our school will transition to the new NSW
public schools’ finance system and a new bank account. As such,
there will be adjustments to how and when we can accept parent
payments. Parent / Guardian payments must be finalised by 23rd
September 2016. If you could make any outstanding payments as
soon as possible this would greatly assist in this transition. As part of
the new finance system the school will be enforcing payment cut-off
dates. The cut-off dates may seem early but are required to confirm
numbers and payments to suppliers.
We thank you for your understanding.
Warm regards
Kelly Paton Principal
2017 Kinder enrolments have commenced Enrolment forms are now available from the school’s office. Please
register at the office by supplying the required documentation and
registering for an initial assessment known as Best Start.
2017 enrolments will be taken between the hours of 9.30 am – 2.30 pm.
Many students from 5G
have been to the Vivid
Festival in Sydney. We
discussed the
attractions in class and
watched some videos of
the displays which have
been projected onto the
Opera House over the
last few years. This
gave us inspiration to
produce some creative
artworks.
What an exciting time we all had at the Science Museum, in Wollongong. We had the
opportunity to view the stars and constellations and watch a movie about aliens exploring
the planets, where they finally chose Earth as their perfect holiday destination. The two
levels of equipment to explore and learn about the effects of pushing, pulling, magnetism,
air and peddle power kept us entertained for ages. Finally, we watched and participated in
some fabulous experiments to do with water and its importance.

On Thursday 4th of August, 2016, students from the Primary Dance Ensemble, the
Stage Two Dance Group, the Senior Drumming Group and the Hot Peppers Skipping
Team attended the 2567 Showcase that was held at Elizabeth Macarthur High School.
Students performed their individual items in both a matinee and evening performance.
All of the students represented the school with great pride, displaying wonderful
manners and performed with wonderful enthusiasm. All of the students should be so
proud of their effort on the day. Our two school captains, Luke Loprete and Annalysse
Stevens, along with Kiera Morrissey also compered the event for both performances.
A big thank you to Mrs Dalzell who facilitated all of the organisation for the event and
Mrs Scherer, Ms Mayer, Mrs Tidyman and Mrs Smukulis who assisted in organising and
supervising their individual groups on the day. Also, to Mr Green who was a coordinator
for the event, providing a wonderful opportunity for the students to perform.
