Term 4
Week 7
18th November, 2015
Dear Members of the Nambucca Heads Public School Community,
Cross-stage Activities One of the attributes of our school that is often commented on is the feeling of connectedness across the school community. We try to nurture this as often as possible. A number of our classes have been working with other stages on a variety of learning activities. These have been great in building students’ abilities as self-directed learners, as well as giving students the opportunities to share skills and understandings with their peers.
2016 Kinder Visit
Our 2016 Kindergarten students visited school today for their third orientation
visit. It was another great opportunity for our newest students to meet staff and students and to become familiar with the school environment. Thank you to all the buddies for your help.
Transition to High School As we welcome our new students we are preparing to farewell some of our existing ones. Over the next couple of weeks our Year 6 students will be attending transition days with their future high schools. Year 6 teachers and Nambucca Heads High School have been working together to ensure the move is as smooth as possible. If your child is going to high school next year, take the time to sit with them and talk about anything that might excite them or make them feel nervous with this change.
Circus Workshops The students of 4K have been learning circus skills. These include juggling, plate spinning, pois and acro-balance. Students from Macksville have been visiting us and sharing their talents. It was great to see the red shirts of our students performing at the Macksville Gift on the weekend, as a part of the Nambucca Valley Circus Troupe.

Whooping Cough Thank you to everyone for helping to manage the recent Whooping Cough alert in our school. Please remain vigilant.
NSW Health advice is that any
student coughing should stay at
home and see their doctor. If
Whooping Cough is confirmed a 5
day course of antibiotics is
prescribed. Students are able to
return to school after these 5 days.
