Principal’s Message
“Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.” ― John Paul II
Easter Greetings and blessings to all our families. Our hope and prayer for you all is that you were able to celebrate this highlight of the Christian calendar with your families and that the reality of being Resurrection people will come to fruition in your lives over the next 12 months.
THANKS go to Mr Tuohey who ‘held the fort’ last week whilst both Mrs Campbell and Mr Morrell were out of the school. It was an amazingly busy week with A3 concert, First Reconciliation and Stations of the Cross to be organised. Thanks Mr Tuohey!
FIRST RECONCILIATION Congratulations to our Year 2 students and their families on receiving this Sacrament last week. It is a milestone in your spiritual journey and a significant event in the lives of families. Thanks also to our Year 2 teachers who prepared our students to receive this Sacrament for the first
time. Thanks also to those staff members who came along to support our students and their teachers. STATIONS OF THE CROSS Congratulations to all the Year 5 students who did a fantastic job with the Stations of the Cross last Thursday. They all carried out their roles well and should be proud of their efforts. Many thanks to the staff who contributed to the performance and to those parents and families who were able to attend. BUILDING GRANT We have been successful in our application to the Diocese for a building grant to carry out the renovation of the 100 block (Year 5 classrooms). We also applied to have the frosted glass windows replaced on the 600 (Years 3/4) and 500 (Year 6) blocks. We are extremely excited to have been successful in our application. As yet we are uncertain when these works will commence but we will continue to keep our parents informed when we receive further notification. Thanks must go to Mr Anthony Salmon, Mrs Renee Furore, Mr Richard Carnell, Mrs Janice Taylor and Mr Chris Piva who worked hard to prepare our submission - Thank you: your generosity and your wisdom are much appreciated.

THREE WAY CONVERSATIONS A reminder that these are taking place this week. Please take this opportunity to engage with your child’s teacher and hear from your child about their goals for their learning. SCHOOL PHOTOS This Thursday (5th April). Full summer uniform is to be worn including girl’s hair to be tied back if it is longer than shoulder length. If you are not here on this date, you can attend Marian Catholic College on Wednesday 30th May. Please ring MSP Photography on 69 285588 to notify them. Also remember that your child is to be photographed in full summer uniform. ATHLETICS CARNIVAL We advise the Athletics Carnival Bus Levy is now available for payment on Flexischools. MRS WENDY PIVA After 18 years of dedicated service we are farewelling Mrs Wendy Piva at the end of this term. Wendy has touched the lives of many of our students (and teachers) during her time with us. We will be very sad to see her leave. We will miss her dedication, her wicked sense of humour and most of all the amazing work she has done with our students. Good luck in your new place of employment Wendy and thanks for all you have been and done at St Pat’s. HAPPY HOLIDAYS This will be the last newsletter before the holidays. We wish all our families a restful 2 weeks. If you are travelling ...stay safe and we will see you on TUESDAY 1st MAY. Monday 31st April is a Professional Development day for our teachers. INTERNET SAFETY GUIDES The school holidays provide the opportunity for many students to spend time on the internet. Please be aware of your responsibility as parents to keep them safe and to provide guidelines for them. If you are not aware of what you can do to help them be responsible digital citizens please have a quick read of the information provided by the esafety Commission (see link below...easy to read and follow). https://www.esafety.gov.au/about-the-office/resource-centre/brochure-parents-guide-to-online-safety

Harrison Waide Mason Salvestro Tahlia Quinn & Doug McKenzie
Another eventful fortnight at St. Patrick’s with Harrison Waide swimming in Sydney at the Mackillop Trials. Harrison
finished first in the eight year old boys 50m freestyle, which now qualifies him for the State Carnival as a member of the
MacKillop Team. This is an amazing achievement for him. Fabulous achievement Harrison.
On the 27th of March a few Year 6 students headed to Wagga Wagga for the Diocesan Touch Trials. Emmerson Waide and
Nicolas Minato made it to possibles and probables which was a terrific effort. Mason Salvestro was selected as a member
of the Diocesan Touch Team. Congratulations Mason. He will now go to Canberra next term to play with the team.
Today, Tuesday the 3rd of April we have approximately 110 girls participating in a Girls Only Soccer Gala Day. The girls have
had an opportunity to develop skills and mix with other schools from the surrounding Griffith district. Congratulations to
Tahlia Quinn for winning the signed Matilda’s Guernsey. A very exciting way to end the day. Thank you to Doug McKenzie
for all his hard work and organisation. Thank you also to our Year 6 boys who stepped in to help at the last minute to assist
with refereeing and also a big thank you to the Wade High students who also came and assisted at the last minute. We
have all enjoyed a great day with perfect weather.
Thank you to all the parents who have supported their children and the school during events this term. It is greatly
appreciated. Well done to all the students and their achievements. A big thank you also to all the staff for their dedication
and support.
We look forward to more great sporting achievements in Term 2.
