The tour price of $4,799* is based on a minimum of 30 passengers. Cancellation of the pilgrimage is possible if fewer than 30 sign up. ACCOMMODATIONS: Pilgrims stay in first class hotels, based on double occupancy with private facilities. Single room supplement is $675, based on availability. Requests for a roommate will be accommodated, when possible, but are not guaranteed. The single-room supplement will be assessed if a roommate is not available when the group is finalized. MEALS: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided as indicated in the itinerary. TIPS AND TAXES: Extra costs normally appearing on hotel and restaurant bills as “services” are included in tour price, as are all government and local taxes on hotels and meals. Airport fees, departure taxes and fuel surcharges are not included, and will be billed at time of ticketing. SIGHTSEEING: Travel will be by modern, air-conditioned motor coach including services of English-speaking guide and entrance fees paid to all sites on itinerary. Masses at churches indicated are subject to availability. NOT INCLUDED: 1) Optional travel insurance is not included. Enclosed insurance recommendation form must be signed to acknowledge that you have read the recommendation. 2) Also not included are meals not included in itinerary, plus laundry, wines, liquors, sightseeing or services other than those specifically listed, items of a personal nature, and excess baggage charges. 3) *Airport fees, departure taxes and fuel surcharges are calculated at the prevailing rate at the time of ticketing, and will be billed at that time. ASSISTANCE: Pilgrims who require personal assistance must be accompanied by a paying passenger who will provide that assistance. DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION: A deposit of $500 per person is required to secure reservations, all of which will be applied to the price of the tour, with the balance to be paid in full no later than February 28, 2018. Written cancellations must be received by OCP Pilgrimages prior to January 31, 2018 to receive a refund. Participants who cancel after January 31, 2018, or after registration has been closed, are responsible for the entire cost of the pilgrimage. AIR TRANSPORTATION: Round trip air transportation is provided between Portland/ Prague and Munich/Portland in economy class jet via United Air Lines. If pilgrims cancel after January 31, 2018, or after tickets are written, whichever comes first, 100 percent of airfare will be forfeited by passenger. All airfares are subject to government approval and may change without notice. INSURANCE: We recommend everyone purchase travel insurance. We urge this because insurance is not included in the tour price. Because of the cost of medical care outside the United States, and since Medicare does not provide coverage outside the U.S., there is the possibility that your own insurance provider may not cover you. Additionally, high costs are associated with escorted air evacuation. You will receive a Travel Insurance Recommendation form. This form must be signed and returned to OCP Pilgrimages with your initial deposit. RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY: OCP Pilgrimages and participating tour operators operate the land tours as agents of the hotels, bus operators, sightseeing contractors and others who provide the actual land and sea arrangements. They are not liable for any act, omission, delay, injury, loss, damage or non-performance occurring in connection with these arrangements. Air carriers and other transportation companies whose services are featured in these tours are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board. The contract in use by these companies when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the companies and the purchaser of the tours and/or passage. MISCELLANOUS FEES: All changes must be received in writing and may incur a charge for each revision. Deposits received after January 31, 2018, may incur a late registration fee. LAND ARRANGEMENTS: The tour operator reserves the right to change the itinerary because of emergencies or extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Tour 2018-036 Rev. John Henderson, pastor of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigard, will lead this 13-day pilrimage. Mass will be celebrated daily. Wednesday, May 2: Bled Lake Bled, little more than a mile long, is beautifully situated in the Julian Alps. There are magnificent views in all directions, especially from Slovenia’s only island in the middle of the lake. We enjoy a boat ride out to this wonderful site, visiting the church of St. Mary rising from its heart. We then drive just a few miles to the spectacular Vintgar Gorge. The evening is free for you to explore the area on your own. (Breakfast) Thursday, May 3: Salzburg Back into Austria this morning, we continue through wonderful Alpine scenery to Salzburg, birthplace in 1756 of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The city is dominated by the Hohensalzburg fortress, once the residence of the Prince Archbishops who controlled the production of salt, as valuable as gold in the Middle Ages. We see some of the sites used in the musical “The Sound of Music,” including the Mirabell Gardens. We visit the Cathedral and enjoy the typical narrow streets and alleyways of this beautiful city. (Breakfast and Dinner) Friday, May 4: Munich Today we cross the border into Germany, and pass the tranquil and beautiful Bavarian countryside on the drive to Munich. This city represents the Germany of popular imagination, of lederhosen, beer, pretzels and traditional costume. Although badly damaged during the war, the city center around Marienplatz and the opera house have been rebuilt. Following an orientation tour of the city, we drive to the suburb of Dachau, where Nazi Germany built their first concentration camp, these days a fascinating memorial and museum. This evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner at Munich’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbrauhaus. Monday, April 23Depart Portland for your transatlantic flight to Prague, Czech Republic.

Tuesday, April 24: PragueArrive in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, and at one time the second city of the Habsburg Empire. Amongst the most beautiful cities in Europe, Prague has been capital of the Czech state for over 1,100 years. Transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (Dinner)

Wednesday, April 25: PraguePrague’s city center has been included in UNESCO’s World Heritage list since 1992, and Prague Castle is the largest in the world. We enjoy a city tour this morning, visiting the castle, actually a citadel, and seeing St. Vitus’ Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace and Golden Lane before crossing the Charles Bridge to the Old Town Square, one of the loveliest public squares in the world. This afternoon is free for exploration of this beautiful city. (Breakfast and Dinner)

Thursday, April 26: ViennaWe cross the region of Bohemia, extending south of Prague to the border, and into northern Austria. This small country, once the largest and most powerful empire in Europe, comprises mountains, forests, quaint villages and clear lakes. We arrive in Vienna, Austria’s historic capital and former residence of the Habsburg family who ruled for hundreds of years. Thanks to its imperial past, Vienna is a monumental and multicultural cosmopolitan city. (Breakfast and Dinner)

Sunday, April 29: BudapestThis morning we tour Budapest, actually twin cities of Buda and Pest, which occupy opposite banks of the Danube. Budapest’s city center is included in UNESCO’s World Heritage list, and both sides of the river boast impressive buildings. We see the Castle District in Buda, including the castle itself, historic residence of the kings of Hungary, the Matthias Church and the Fisherman’s Bastion. We then cross the river to Pest, passing the neo-gothic Parliament and driving along Budapest’s celebrated boulevard, Andrassy Ut. We visit St. Stephen’s Church, the most important church in the country, and Budapest’s fascinating Holocaust Memorial Center. (Breakfast and Dinner)

Friday, April 27: ViennaWe enjoy a morning city tour of Vienna with its wide boulevards, world-class museums and the river Danube. We see the Habsburg winter palace, the Hofburg, and drive around the famous Ringstrasse, where many imposing public buildings were built on the site of the former city walls. We then enjoy a guided tour of the Habsburg summer palace, Schönbrunn, most beloved residence of the Empress Maria Theresa, before a free afternoon. Later, enjoy the opportunity to enrich your musical knowledge with an optional concert (not included), performed by a Viennese Orchestra, of the most famous melodies of Mozart and Strauss. Saturday, April 28: Bratislava - BudapestLeaving Vienna to the east, we follow the course of the river Danube into Slovakia. This small country, once forming the poorer part of Czechoslovakia, has undergone an economic recovery in recent years and was accepted

Monday, April 30: ZagrebDeparting Budapest to the southwest, we bypass Lake Balaton and enter Croatia, one of six states that made up Yugoslavia. We continue to Zagreb, the capital, a city that combines the cultural splendor which characterized earlier Austrian rule with a modern and progressive outlook. The medieval heart, at Gradec and Kaptol, provide a complex of churches, palaces and quaint squares that can easily be explored on foot. We enjoy a city tour before dinner and overnight at our hotel. Tuesday, May 1: Ljubljana - Bled This morning we leave Croatia and enter Slovenia, the most westernized part of the former Yugoslavia. Just a short drive takes us to its capital and largest city, Ljubljana, with animated squares, historic old town, and abounding art galleries and museums. Meaning ‘beloved’ in Slovenian, Ljubljana is often called the “Little Prague.” The city’s architecture encompasses a mix of Baroque, Renaissance and Art Nouveau styles, and the river Ljubljana adds a natural charm. Following a guided tour, we continue the short distance to Lake Bled for a two-night stay. (Breakfast and Dinner)
