    Robert Thomas Pattinson (born 13 May 1986) was born in London. His mother, Clare, worked for a

    modelling agency, and his father, Richard, imported vintage cars from the U.S. He attended Tower House

    School and Harrodian School, and became involved in amateur theatre through theBarnes Theatre

    Company. After some backstage experience there, he took on acting roles. He caught the attention of an

    acting agent in a production ofTess of the D'Urbervilles and began looking for professional roles.

    Pattinson has two elder sisters, singerLizzy Pattinson, and Victoria Pattinson.

    Acting Career

    Pattinson had supporting roles in the made for television film Ring of the Nibelungs in 2004 and indirectorMira NairsVanity Fair, although his scenes in the latter were deleted and only appear on the

    DVD version. In May 2005, he was slated to appear in the UK premiere ofThe Woman Before atthe Royal Court Theatre, but was fired shortly before the opening night and was replaced byTom

    Riley. Later that year he played Cedric Diggory inHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For this role he

    was named that year'sBritish Star of Tomorrow by The Times. He has more than once been touted as thenext Jude Law. Pattinson playedEdward Cullen in the film Twilight, based onStephenie Meyer's

    bestselling novel of the same name, which was released on 21 November 2008 in North America.

    According toTV Guide, Pattinson was initially apprehensive about auditioning for the role of EdwardCullen, fearful that he would not be able to live up to the "perfection" expected from the character. He

    reprised his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilightsequels The Twilight Saga: New Moon andTheTwilight Saga: Eclipse, which was released 30 June 2010. Pattinson had lead roles in the feature

    filmsLittle Ashes(in which he playsSalvador Dal),How To Be (a British comedy) and theshort filmThe Summer House.

    In 2009, Pattinson presented at the 81st Academy Awards. On 10 November,Revolver

    Entertainment released the DVDRobsessed, a documentary which details Pattinson's life and popularity.

    In 2010, Pattinsonexecutively producedand starred in the filmRemember Me, which was released on 12March 2010. He will play Georges Duroy in a film adaptionof the novel,Bel Ami, with Uma Thurman,

    which will be released in 2011. He will also appear in a theatre production for producer David Pugh, and

    star in a film adaption of theSara Gruen novel, Water for Elephants, with Christoph Waltz andReese

    Witherspoon. On 13 May 2010, Pattinson appeared onThe Oprah Winfrey ShowforThe Twilight Saga:

    Eclipseand also made an appearance onThe Ellen Degeneres Show on 18 May, which aired thefollowing day. Pattinson attended the official worldwide red carpet premiere forThe Twilight Saga:Eclipse on 24 June, 2010 at theLos Angeles Nokia Theatre.

    In tem 1 (multiple choice) we have given 1 point for each correct answer, for learners

    have to skim the text and out of a short and quick reading, recognize the type of text and

    identify their purpose in reading a text like that. Learners do not need to take much time

    to do this as it was seen shortly in class. The simplicity of this task justifies the low

    score. This task is given before the text in order to make students read it with a specific

    purpose.(2 points)

    Strategies covered in this item: identify your purpose in reading a text, skim the text

    for the gist and for the main ideas.

    In item 2 (true or false) learners need to read the statements and decide whether true or

    false and mention what is false with the wrong ones. To complete this part of the test,

    they need to skim and compare the statements with the text. Each sentence will worth 2

    points, and for the false ones we give 1 point when recognition is correct and another

    point when justifying is correct, this score responds to the time spent in classes working

    with comprehension tasks (10 points).

    In item 3 (answering questions) this item along with the T/F questions concentrates the

    highest scores because we spent more class time dealing with the concept of

    comprehension of texts. This item is worth 9 points, 3 points each correct answer.Strategies covered in this item: scan the text for specific information (names, dates

    and key words)

    In item 4, learners will imagine they are famous and will write a short autobiography,

    taking as a base the format of the text of this test. There is specific information that they

    have to cover and they need to be aware of their grammar (e.g: I was born in... instead

    of I borned in...). This item is worth 6 points, which reflect a point per request plus the

    point for grammar. This item was not difficult to achieve while lessons, so we have

    decided 6 points according to the time they will need to achieve it.
