Gold Seal of Approval™ Guidelines for Accredited Organizations or Certifi ed Programs

Once an organization becomes accredited or a program certifi ed, JCI’s Gold Seal of Approval™ can be used in correspondence and advertising/promotional efforts to help publicize the achievement and distinguish the organi-zation from non-accredited organizations or non-certifi ed programs.

1. The Gold Seal of Approval™ cannot be altered.

2. The elements of the Gold Seal of Approval™ must remain in the same proportional relationship.

3. The Gold Seal of Approval™ is used to highlight an organization’s accreditation by Joint Commission International. It can also be used to signify a JCI certifi ed program within an organization. It can be used by these organizations on their websites, indoor and outdoor signage, marketing materi-als, and advertisements.

4. The Gold Seal of Approval™ is reproduced using a four-color process. Organizations must reproduce the Gold Seal of Approval™ in the four-color process on websites and external signage. External signage includes billboards, outdoor banners and build-ing signs. For printed materials only, if it is not possible for an organization to produce the Gold Seal of Approval™ in four-color, the seal may be repro-duced in a black and white version. The seal cannot be reproduced in any other color.

5. The Gold Seal of Approval™ must be reproduced in gold only when using the following phrase in conjunction with the Gold Seal: “the (organization’s name) has earned Joint Commission International’s Gold Seal of Approval™.”

6. If the Gold Seal of Approval™ is used to promote accreditation or certi-fi cation, it can only reference services or sites that have successfully met require-ments. Example: if an organization’s brochure lists fi ve sites, but only one site is accredited, the Gold Seal of Approval™ can only be displayed referencing the accredited site.

7. JCI accredited organizations and organizations with specifi c programs certifi ed by JCI will have access to the Gold Seal of Approval™ via a password protected website. Instructions for accessing this site will be made available at the time of accreditation or certifi cation.

The Gold Seal of Approval™ is pro-prietary to JCI and can only be used by authorized accredited organizations and to signify certifi ed programs. Promotion is restricted to the Gold Seal of Approval™,the JCI logo cannot be utilized.
