Where can a wall-hung bowl be installed?

Obviously, a wall-hung bowl is installed in a room dedicated to the function instead of thefloor-standing unit with the adjacent semi-low or high placed cistern.

A wall-hung bowl can also be installed in a bathroom. Some solutions even allow adedicated specific space to be created in this room.

For a second toilet, allows toilets to be installed in the “lost areas” as in under theeaves or a staircase, as long as a water supply is possible, with a 100 mm diameter drain orat least a 32 mm diameter drain with a “sani-broyeur”.

What needs to be known before choosing models?

➀ The type of floor :

In a new building, the information is simple: either the support frame is placed on a concrete screed or on a known typeof finished floor: general tiled.

For renovation, if the information is not available, it will either by necessary to sound out the floor by drilling into a loca-tion that can subsequently be concealed.

➁ The type of wall in front of which the frame will be installed:

There are two possible cases:

• Bearing wall: a bearing wall or partition is of concrete, plaster blocks, stones, plastered tiles or any othermaterial at least 100 mm thick.

• Light partition: a light partition is a partition made of hollow bricks, honeycomb plasterboard or solid plaster-board or any other material less than 100 mm thick.

More of the time, simple acoustic sounding will determine the quality of the wall (dull sound = supporting wall, resonantsound = light partition).

The right choice :In all cases, the quality of the floor is important. Ideally, the material should be supporting concrete or another structurewith a capacity of 250 kg per m2. Whenever there is a doubt, it is advisable to call in a professional to find the right so-lution.

PRACTICAL INFORMATIONS


Supporting Wall :Every type of model (wall, self-supporting or floor), for economic reasons the wall-mounted solution is the one most often adopted.

Light partition : Self-supporting or floor mounted

Technical riser (specific to community housing):Floor model whatever the separation material within the limit of 100 mm thickness, in the standardversion and up to 250 mm with specific accessories.

Glossary :

• Wall Model: Frame attached both to floor and wall

• Self-supporting Model (Universal): Frame attached only to the floor with or without the possibility of connection to the wall.

• Floor Model: specific design, totally self-contained and suitable for installation at amore less great distance from the wall (in particular to handle rooms that are notsquare or the passage of a drain column, or even when there is no partition).

Installation :

The operation is simple and requires no heavy tooling:

• a tape measure and a pencil• a spirit level• an electric drill with drill bits 10 mm max. in diameter• open-end wrenches, maximum size 19 mm• a hammer• a hacksaw• a file

Can be done in less than 3 hours.

Cladding :

The installer is given the greatest freedom in terms of cladding. There are only two necessary constraints:• the thickness of the cladding (from 16 to 100 mm)• the mandatory securing of the cladding to the frame structure

MaintenanceDepending on the hardness of the network water, it may be necessary to clean

or change the joints and membrane of the cistern equipment. The control plate serves as an access trapdoor and the cistern equipment is

directly accessible and easy to take out of the tank.

EquipmentThis is comprised of a double volume mechanism and silent valve, both of which come from the standard

The ConceptThe idea behind the SPINAIR WC® built-in odour extractor is quite simple, by connecting the toilet bowl directly to the building’s mechanised ventilation shaft or to any autonomous ventilation system already existing in a standardised building.Any odours generated by the user are directed towards the outside of the building, without crossing the room, and are directly extracted at the aperture of the ventilation shaft.

How it works The extraction from the toilet bowl is done via the bracewhich is in constant contact with the overflow of the flushing mechanism.To be 100% efficient, this contact must be completely air-tight so that no extraction volume is lost (extraction intothe tank). To achieve this, the SPINAIR WC® (trade mark)system uses an upturned bell-jar immersed in the water,which ensures the airtightness. The bell-jar does not inter-fere with the overflow function.The bell-jar is then connected by a flexible tube to a sleevewhich crosses the tank and which ensures connection tothe mechanised ventilation shaft

• High-level cisterns:Intended for the replacement of cast iron old cisterns, the range comprises an inexpensive model ( PRIMO ) activated by a hanging chain and a “comfort”model ( RONDO ) activated by a chain or pneumatically, with insulation and asilent floater valve.

• Low-level cisterns:Intended for specific installations, the range comprises an inexpensive model ( PRIMO ), an extra flat model ( EXTRAPLAT 68 ) and a corner model( ANGLE 78 ). An adapter kit enables other models of the range ( RONDO,SCALA ) to be installed in the low-level position.

Some things necessary to know !The partially stagnant water in a WC cistern and bowl is a real nest of germs (up to 100 million per litre of water). Thesemicro-organisms are not only the source of many allergies, or illnesses, but they also cause other unwanted effects, suchas furring on the walls of the equipment and the cistern, which in turn cause malfunctions and leaks. Unfortunately, that’s not all! This stagnant water favours the deposit and incrustation of limescale (up to 500 grammes peryear, which also causes persistant micro-leaks, without even mentioning the dirty look of the bowl and blocked drain pipes. A toilet which leaks all the time, without knowing it, can waste up to 200 cubic metres per year, costing up to 500€ peryear, depending on the cost of water.The proper maintenance of a WC (disinfectants, anti-limescale products, deodorants and other miracle products) consumesup to 25kg of chemical products, which will cost about 100€, while not caring much for the environment. All this is alsoback-breaking housework which will take about 50 hours per year!

The diffuser is comprised of areservoir with 500ml capacity, a 2ml doser and a floater which ensures the opening and closing of thedoser. After each toilet flush, the doser liberates the product all the time when the WC cistern is fillingup with water again. The design of the doser enables it to re-load with MK 3050W® without wastingany product before it closes. Once it is installed, no further manipulation of the tank is needed.
