Randy Nelson President Swisstrax Corporation 82579 Fleming Way, Unit A Indio, CA 92201

Dear Randy:

Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that we have received all of the necessary documentation to establish that we can provide third-party verification that your Ecotrax product meets the requirements for incorporation into building projects requiring recycled content.

Our site visit to your facility and that of your molding contractor, and the materials certification that you have provided to us, serve as verified proof that the recycled content of your Ecotrax product is 100% postconsumer waste and that the product is composed entirely of the postconsumer recycled base material. Based on our review of your documentation, as well as that of your vendors, and our on-site inspection of your fabrication process, we can confirm that 100% of the purchase price of the Ecotrax product can be applied towards calculating the total cost of the recycled materials in a building project.

Please consider this letter to be our official third-party verification of the recycled content of your Ecotrax flooring product.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining and delivering the necessary documentation and facilitating our site visits, as well as your overall participation in the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery’s Tire-Derived Product Business Assistance Program.

Sincerely,

Philip Cullen Senior Consultant Manex Consulting 2633 Camino Ramon San Ramon, CA 94583

LEEDS CERTIFICATION

Swisstrax Ecotrax:

Swisstrax is a pioneer and the recognized leader in the polymer tile field, providing durable, attractive flooring systems for use in high traffic areas in commercial and residential applications. The Ecotrax product line has several features which make it attractive to architects creating LEED certified projects

Swisstrax presents designers and architects with the opportunity to specify flooring material that helps them reach their project LEED credit goals and brings a two-fold benefit in reaching certification - Regionally Sourced Materials and Recycled Content.

Created from Regionally Sourced Materials

All of the materials used in Ecotrax are sourced within 500 miles of the Swisstrax factory in Indio, California. Other manufacturers ship their raw materials across the country or even import them from overseas, preventing them from reliably certifying their products as having regional content. Ecotrax helps you obtain your project’s LEED MR 5 credits.

100% Post-consumer Recycled Content

Swisstrax Ecotrax tiles contain 100% postconsumer recycled content, giving you the maximum material contribution towards your LEED MR 4 credits. The tiles are a blend of 100% post-consumer recycled rubber and 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene.

Ecotrax is the only modular rubber tile in the world using 100% post-consumer recycled material and made entirely from regionally sourced materials. Ecotrax is not only a superior product from a pioneer in the polymer tile field; it provides you with a reliable, third-party certified component input for your project LEED certification. Architects will be able to claim the maximum number of available credits for the use of recycled content and they will gain additional credits for the use of regionally sourced materials.

Swisstrax’s use of post-consumer recycled materials and regional content in its Ecotrax product far exceeds the LEED standard, because Swisstrax believes in sustainable manufacturing and the use of high quality raw materials that would otherwise find their way to the landfill. As a demonstration of their commitment to ensuring that materials stay out of the landfill, Swisstrax will buy back the flooring at a fair price, should you ever remove it.

To learn more about the Ecotrax product line and how Swisstrax can help you achieve your LEED project goals, please contact us at: 1-866-748 7940 or online at www.swisstrax.com.

LEED SUMMARY

MATERIALS & RESOURCES Intent:

RECYCLED CONTENT

Increase demand for building products incorporating recycled content materials, thereby reducing impacts resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials.

Requirements

MR Credit 4.1 / 4.2 Recycled Content: 10% / 20%

Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of postconsumer recycled content plus ½ of preconsumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20% , based on cost, of the total dollar value of project materials

LEED NC 2009 The recycled content value of a material is determined by weight

LEED Schools 2009 Product Evaluation

Swisstrax Ecotrax tiles contain 100% postconsumer recycled content, giving you the maximum impact towards your LEED points. The tiles are a blend of postconsumer recycled rubber and post consumer recycled plastic

   Sample Calculation

   1. The total materials cost for a new auto dealership is $3 Million.

  2. The total cost of Swisstrax Ecotrax tile used in the project is

$30,000    3. Dividing $30K by $3MM gives 1%

  4. Ecotrax tile contributes 1% towards the 10% or 20% materials

threshold for the 1 or 2 points granted for recycled content

LEED SUMMARY

MATERIALS & RESOURCES Intent:

Regional Materials

Increase demand for building materials or products that have been extracted, harvested or recovered, as well as manufactured, within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the total materials value. If only a fraction of a product or material is extracted, harvested, or recovered and manufactured locally, then only that percentage (by weight) can contribute to the regional value.

Requirements

MR Credit 5 Regional Materials 10% / 20%

Use building materials or products that have been extracted, harvested or recovered, as well as manufactured, within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the total materials value.

LEED NC 2009 The recycled content value of a material is determined by weight

LEED Schools 2009 Product Evaluation

Swisstrax Ecotrax tiles contain 100% postconsumer recycled content, whichis sourced from within a 10 mile radius of the factory in Indio, CA. A 500 mile radius from Indio includes the LA Basin, the SF Bay Area, Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, San Diego and Sacramento, an area housing ~15% of the US Population.

        Sample Calculation

   1. The total materials cost for a new auto dealership is $3 Million.

  2. The total cost of Swisstrax Ecotrax tile used in the project is

$30,000    3. Dividing $30K by $3MM gives 1%

Kerri NelsonOffice ManagerSwisstrax, Inc.82579 Fleming Way, Unit AIndio, CA 92201

Dear Ms. Nelson:

On behalf of the National Floor Safety Institute I would like to thank you for submittingyour product for Phase I testing. The Ribtrax Tile was tested per the NFSI 101-A testmethod on March 5, 2009 and the average Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) was0.87 which exceeds our minimum acceptable wet SCOF value of a 0.6 and is thereforeeligible for Phase II testing.

The purpose of the NFSI 101-A test method is to determine the wet Static Coefficient OfFriction (SCOF) of hard surfaced flooring materials (ie: ceramic floor tile, vinyl floorcoverings, finishes, etc.) using the BOT-3000. The product was tested per Phase I ofour certification process and does not reflect real-world performance as evaluated inPhase II testing.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Russell J. KendziorPresident

4. Conclusion

The antibacterial test ISO 22196 reveals excellent activity against both the Gram-negative E. coli and the Gram-positive S. aureus for all the SANAFOR®-treated samples (>3 log reductions for all addition rates). It should be noted that also the untreated sample resulted in full control of S. aureus. It has been observed before, that freshly manufactured plastic samples exert a certain antimicrobial activity (which disappears after some time), which is typically more pronounced on the more sensitive bacteria like S. aureus. The absence of any activity of the untreated sample on E. coli clearly shows that the full antimicrobial activity comes from SANAFOR®. Also, the antifungal test ASTM E2180 shows good activity of all SANAFOR®-treated samples (>80% reduction of growth), whereas the untreated sampled showed no activity against the fungi. Recommendation. Seen the overall excellent broad spectrum activity against bacteria and a good antifungal protection even at the lowest addition rate, a 1% SANAFOR® addition should be sufficient to have a strong and broad antimicrobial protection.
