    Use of low-iron formula or infants not receiving iron-fortifiedformula

    Early introduction of cows milk as a major source ofnutrition. If infants are not yet consuming a sufficient

    alternate source of iron-rich foods, replacement of breastmilk or formula may lead to insufficient iron intake.
