House Bill 18• HB 18 establishes a statewide initiative to develop resources for
school counselors or advisors in public secondary schools to support advising for educational pathways and career opportunities available to students
• School counselors are required to advise students on educational pathways and career opportunities under the four components of the Texas Model Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Program
• HB 18 also requires each school district to provide instruction to students in seventh and eighth grade about preparing for high school, college, and possible careers.
![Page 5: Texas OnCourse Presentation_TASSP (1)](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062412/58aaa5d61a28abfa0e8b54a3/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Why we are here..To share our plan and get your feedback.• We have seen great ideas and initiatives fail without
buy-in. • OnCourse is in the revision and design stage. • Only with contributions from a wide range of
stakeholders - like the people in this room - will the initiative be successful.
• And finally to show how this online professional development tool can be used to help promote your Campus Improvement Plan.
