Online Homework Information for Math 171, 172, or 221 at TAMU

(Only if your instructor is using WebAssign)

Online Homework Access

• To have access to the online homework within WebAssign, you will need to purchase access within WebAssign.

• When purchasing access, you also have the option to purchase an eBook version of your textbook within WebAssign.

• You also have the option of purchasing homework access and/or the eBook for multiple semesters – called “lifetime” access. However, it is only recommended that you purchase “lifetime” access if you know for a fact you will be using WebAssign in Calc 1, 2, or 3 at TAMU in a future semester. (So, don’t purchase lifetime access if you are in 221.)

Accessing WebAssign

• You will need to log into WebAssign to purchase Homework and/or eBook access. To start this process go to the URL below.

Accessing WebAssign • Once you are at the WebAssign @ Texas A&M Login site, click on the

LOG IN button.

• At the Texas A&M Central Authentication System’s site, type in your University NetID and password and then click LOGIN.

• Until you purchase access, the following screen will appear.

Continuing Trial Period • If you choose to continue your trial period, then you will be taken to

your WebAssign class home page. Keep in mind, that this trial period has an expiration date. After this date, you will not be able to access WebAssign until access has been purchased.

Purchasing Access

• If you are ready to purchase access to the Online Homework and/or eBook, choose “purchase access online” and click on Continue.

Purchasing Access • You will be shown your options for purchasing access, including

eBook access if you want it. The third option is access to the online homework (without the eBook) for one semester. Select your desired option and click “Enter Payment Information”

• You will then be directed to the payment page. Once you have submitted payment, you will have immediate access to the online homework assignments.

Payment • You will make the payment via PayPal. Enter the

information to complete and finalize your purchase. – If you have a PayPal account, you can use it to make your

purchase.

– If you do not have a PayPal account, you can pay using a credit card as a PayPal guest.

• Once the purchase is finalized, you will be taken to the class home page.

Accessing the eBook

• If you purchased the eBook, to access it, go to the “About this Class” section of the class homepage, and click on the link next to the picture of the textbook’s cover.

• A table containing links to the eBook will be displayed. Choose the chapter you want to download and click on the download icon ( ). A pdf version of the chapter will be displayed in Acrobat reader.
