1. The death penalty (DP) is what we all deserve.

2. The Cross was capital punishment and the price paid there in that one life was enough.

3. Mercy to those who’ve shown no mercy releases mercy our waytoo.

4. The DP accomplishes nothing but retribution today and the Gospel invites us out into something beyondthat: there is a higher spiritualityin mercy than in judgment.

5. A broken society produces broken people and at some point we need to own that fact.

6. The first mile is justice, the second mile is the mercy mile. There is a higher spiritual place out in that second mile that releases God’sfavor over both individuals and nations.
