HEMP:

Generic Name:Cannabis sativaHemp fiber is derived from the hemp plant also known as bast fiber and finds its usage throughout history in central and South Asia. The item ranges from rope to fabricsInitially confined to Industrial usages due to its coarseness, while in 1980's enzymatic process(process to separate lignin) made it suitable to produce textile for apparels.

Properties & USP's•One of the strongest and durable textile fibers•Staple length 8 Inches(20 cms)•Holds the shape and streches less.•Biodegradable fiber•Good moisture absorbent and deing properties due to porous nature.•Keeps cool in summers and warm in winters•The soft elasticity of cotton or the smooth texture of silk combined with the natural strength of hemp creates a whole new genre of fashion design.

Applications:Apparels, accessories, shoes, homefurnishing etc.

SILK:

Silk finds its origin in Neolithic age( 12th Century) in China and was confined to china till the discovery of Silk route.Silk is a protein fiber composed mainly of fibroin produced by certain instect larvaeto form cocoons. The best silk is obtaibned from the cocoons of mulberry silkworm "Bombyx Mori" reared in captive sericulture. About 97% of raw silk is produced in India in states of Anthra pradesh,Karnataka, J&K, Tamil Nadu, WB etc. also produced by countries such as Bangladesh,Thailand and Middle East.

Properties and USP's:•It has a shimmery apperance due to prism type structure refracting light to different angles.•Longest and thinnest natural filament fiber around 3000 yards•Dyeing and priting properties are good.•Has good moisture absorbing properties.•Silk fiber is very fine, soft and light in weight

Applications:Silk fiber finds its wide application in garments, parachutes, medical dressings, tyres of racing cars etc, however usage of silk has declined over time due to its high cost value as well as increased market demand for synthetic fibers.

Wool:Wool is one of the oldest textile fiber that finds its existence in 10000 BC, in Northern Europe. Being obtained from Sheep and certain other animals, including cashmere and mohair from goats, Qiviut from muskoxen, angora from rabbits and other types of wool from camlelids.

Application:

Widely used in clothing from Knitwear such as socks and jumpers to cloth used for costumes also used in home furnishing items.

Properties and USP's:

•Ignites high tempreture in relation to cotton and other synthetic fibers•Readily absorbs moisture-almost one third of its own weight in water•Resists Wrinkles-Springs back quickly•Resists Flames-Fibers donot support combustion•Comfortable in all seasons-Keeps layer of air next to skin.•Durable and resists soiling-since the fiber is complex.•Amphoteric-Takes acidic and basic dyed well.

Ramie:

Ramie is one of the oldest fiber having existence more than 6000 years back native to Eastern Asia. Ramie is a bast fiber and is often miscontrued to be linen. It has been found to be existed and cultivated in china since long. China leads the production of Ramie mailnly to Europe and Japan and Europe, very small proporion is demanded internationally. Properties:One of the strongest natural fibers, especially once wetHolds shape for long and reduced wrinklingHas a silky lustureExtraction and cleaning is expensiveGood absorbent and dries quicklyExcellent abrasion resistance.

Nylon:

Nylon finds its discovery in the year 1935 Wallace Carothers DuPont's research facility- a largest R&D facility Wilmington, United States.Nylon fibers are one of the fibers having the longest history among synthetic fibers. They are used for a variety of uses from clothing to home furnishings and industrial uses.

Properties:•One of the very strong fibers. Extremely resistant to abrasion and flexing.•The specific gravity is 1.14 Very light, i.e., 80% of that of silk fibers, and 70% of that of cotton fibers.•Since nylon fibers absorb little water even though they are wetted., they dry fast and simple in laundering.•Excellent in elasticity and resistant to wrinkle. If properly set, nylon textiles little shrink/ extend or little deform their shape due to thermoplasticity.•Resistant to chemicals and oil. Non-attackable by sea water.•Non-attackable by molds and insects.

Application:Clothing, Home-furnishing, Fish nets, ropes, parachutes, tyre cords etc.

COOLMAX:

Description:

Coolmax is a trademark of Invista(a worldclass co. in integrated fiber, based in U.S) and a brand name for a series of moisture-wicking technical fabrics developed in 1986 by DuPont Textiles and Interiors (now Invista). The so composed fabrics employ specially-engineered polyester fibres to improve "breathability" compared to natural fibres like cotton. It is used for fabrics that are engineered to draw moisture away from the skin through capillary action and increased evaporation over a wider surface area. It is often blended with Wool.

Properties: •Dries quickly has amazing moisture management property.•Helps keep wearer cool and comfortable•Maintains a natural feel that’s soft, lightweight and breathable•Being manufactured from collected plastic bottles, makes it an Eco-Friendly Technology•Silver based antimicrobial additive adds to odor and antimicrobial property.•Accredited with 40+ rating by Ultraviolet Protection Factor standards, i.e. blocks 97.5% of UV rays.
