The Textile Technology Business Center

(TTBC) of IFC’s Partnership for Cleaner Textile

(PaCT) program is Bangladesh’s first one-stop

knowledge hub for the textile sector, enabling

key players of the industry- factories,

technology suppliers, and financial institutions

(FIs) by promoting knowledge and technology

transfer, and facilitating business linkages and

investment in resource efficiency.

Bridging the Gaps through top-notch services

The Bangladesh textile sector frequently suffers

from lack of credible information on

technologies and technology suppliers. Despite

having the right technologies, technology

suppliers often find it difficult to connect with

potential client factories. As a central

knowledge repository, TTBC plays a key role in

bridging these gaps by offering world-class

services, tailored to the specific needs of its

member clients.

“Krohne Marshall acknowledges

TTBC’s efforts in creating awareness of

metering system in textile-garment

sector of Bangladesh. As a leading

technology provider in metering

system, Krohne Marshall is happy to be

associated with TTBC. Currently we are

working with a number of PaCT

factories to set up overall metering

system with utility monitoring system.”

Case Study on Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd.

Fakhruddin Ltd. is a leading textile manufacturer in Bangladesh and a

TTBC member factory. The company was looking to install an incineration

boiler at one of its factories, but wasn’t sure which supplier to approach.

TTBC linked them with member technology supplier SmartTech Pvt. Ltd.,

a key importer of textile and garment machineries. With TTBC’s support,

Fakhruddin installed a 2-tonne incineration boiler, which produces energy

from solid wastes generated in the factory’s sewing, printing, washing,

dyeing units.
