Mark Johnson & Todd Mathiesenstarted Howling Storm LLC in 2007, and after 10 months of being in their new shop on the Palmer-Wasilla Hwy, businesses is screaming. Howling Storm specializes in fabric work for boats, planes, snow machines and dog sleds. The duo also repairs and customizes packs, sleeping bags, tents and jackets.

I hope that sewing evolves into a “cool”hobby, and more men join the ranks of George Clooney (yes, he can sew!). In the mean time, sewing is still a skill used by many professional men for more than just fashion. Parachute riggers, sail makers, and upholsterers (think luxury cars and boats) all sew for a living.
