TGS Library reopens Saturday, January 3rd, 10 A.M. for family research.
A Request from the TGS Librarian: If you have borrowed any books, publications., media,
equipment, etc. from the library, please return them as soon as possible. Our holdings should be
available to family researchers as they seek to do research.
Library Volunteers Still Needed: We are restructuring our volunteer
schedules and need several members to step forward especially for the 4th
Saturday of this month. The TGS Library is open Mon., Wed., and Saturdays.
Morning volunteers serve 10 am—1 pm. Afternoon volunteers serve 1 pm—
4 pm. Training will be scheduled by the librarian.
From the TGS Board of Directors: We have openings on the TGS
Board of Directors for 3 volunteers. Each open term is for 6 months. The
Nominating Committee is searching for replacements to serve from January thru June. If you are
interested in serving out one of these terms, please get in touch with Jim Hemphill (918) 437-1646)
or Dorothy (918-814-1258).
Society Project: To preserve some of our unique TGS collections and publications, we begin a
scanning project this coming Saturday, Jan. 6th, 10:00 a. m. to 4:00 p.m. We need
volunteers. Hand Scanners can be used as well as Flip-Pal or even some of our All-in-One home
printers. This is something each one of us can do! So step out of your “box” and join us in this
important endeavor. The more people who are willing to help, the more we shall be able to
accomplish. Email Dottie: [email protected] or call (H)918-663-2753, (C) 918-814-1258. Please let
me know as soon as possible.
From the President…
Happy New Year 2015! I look forward to finishing out my first term as President of Tulsa Genealogical
Society. I do hope that the holidays were enjoyable for you and your family. Family gatherings are a
great way to spend time with many family members whom you do not see on a regular basis. Adding
new information to your genealogy I am certain brightened the holidays even more.
2015 has arrived and brought promises of new emphases, programs and projects. January 19th’s
program will get us off to a roaring start with 52 Solutions & Ideas for working with our Genealogy! I
am looking forward to getting my list!
This year TGS will be faced with several hard decisions regarding the future of TGS and TGS Library.
Please show your support for the society by attending all the general meetings and by your
involvement as a volunteer in whatever area you can. TGS Society is very important to each of us
because YOU are the society. Step up and make your voice count.
