We hope everyone had an excellent break. This term we have lots of exciting learning to take place at our school. Congratulations to the Play Group for their work with the pie drive. The pies were delicious. Pre-school The Mobile Grenfell Pre-school will start this Friday for students in our new hall. The day starts at 9.15 and finishes at 3.15. This is very exciting for our school. BER Building the Education Revolution Primary Schools for the 21st Century Building or BER has been signed over for early entry. Our hall will be used by the students for various activities. The Pre-school will use it on Fridays and the Bears Bush Bus on Tuesdays. The building is available to the community for meetings. Please contact the school if you wish to use the building. Be alert: Phone scam Concerns have been raised by parents about phone calls from cold callers, pretending to represent Microsoft, who attempt to scare people into believing that their computer has been infected by a virus. This type of call is a scam. These scammers have nothing to do with the Department or Microsoft. The best thing to do is to hang up on these callers. Your child’s ability to make friends will affect their interest in learning how can you help? DIRECTOR’S MEETING:

The next Director’s Meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th August 2010 commencing at 8.00pm at the Golf Club.

DUTY ROSTER: Sunday 25/07/10: J Maslin, M Pollock, G Brain , R Clapham NEWS: The Men’s Golf Tournament was held on Sunday 4th July and was a great success. Thank you to all those people who contributed in any way to the day. It takes lots of time and effort from many to run such a day and the job is made easier by a great bunch of helpers. Tony Pollock Chairman. The ladies tournament will be held on Sunday 1st August and help with catering and in the kitchen on the day would be very much appreciated. Glenda Cooper.

GOLF: Ladies: Sunday 11/7/10: 18 hole par event for the Christine Davies Trophy. Winner Teresa Armitage with Lindy Pollock runner up. Teresa also won the putting comp. Sunday 18/7/10: 18 hole stroke event for the Emily Johnson Trophy. Teresa Armitage the winner and Maureen Perkins the runner up. Glenda Cooper won nearest the pin. It was also great to see Zoe Penfold back on the course. Ariah Park Tournament: Teresa had a 69 nett to be the runner up in the B Grade Handicap event and Lindy Pollock was lucky enough to win the raffle! The ladies will be off to Trundle for their tournament next Sunday and the men are off to Burcher. Men: The men played an Ambrose event with the winners being Terry Penfold, Gus Taylor and Stephen Cooper. Gus won the first by himself and Stephen had a gobble on the 7th. Play will commence each Sunday at 12.30pm for anyone who is interested in a game. New players are always welcome.

BOWLS: Don’t forget that social bowls is played each Sunday commencing at 12.30pm at the local green. All interested people, whether you have played before or not, are welcome to come along for a game. Larry McDonald.
