I am very happy to welcome you all to the 17th Annual Conference of the Indian Arthroscopy Society as the

A wonderful scien�fic feast along with opportuni�es for good social interac�on will be on offer at the

IASCON2018.I am sure that this conference will provide a pla�orm for close interac�on amongst arthroscopic

surgeons.

The dynamic organizing commi�ee have planned to take IAS conference to new heights, which would be

exci�ng to witness. We welcome your family along with you, as they are going to really enjoy the beauty of

Kerala coupled with the warm hospitality of the organisers.

My fellow Arthroscopist,

We enter into another year as an organiza�on of orthopaedic surgeons with special interest in Arthroscopy. We

can be proud that our work is slowly ge�ng published in interna�onal journals of repute. A handsome prize for

the best published paper is already in force and I hope this will serve as a good mo�va�onal force for the

members of our society to publish even more. Research contribu�on by publishing is the only way that will give

our society the interna�onal recogni�on that it deserves.

One of the primary aims of mee�ngs such as the IAS is to provide exposure to the newcomers and update the

experienced. I hope you all will have something to take back from the IAS 2018. These kind of mee�ngs, are

worth if each one of is able to make a change in our outlook or perhaps even our pa�ern of prac�ce.

I urge all my colleagues to strive hard to take the IAS to the next level. The road map to interna�onal

recogni�on and respect is quite clear, to publish or perish. We are also taking baby steps towards forming a

registry. United if we work, this target does not seem difficult to achieve. I welcome sugges�ons that will help

us take our society to the next level.
