Insurance Brokers Association of India (IBAI) is organizing its 14th Brokers Summit with theme “Insurance Brokers – Maximizing Value for Policyholders” at Taj Krishna Hotel, Hyderabad on Wednesday, 24 January, 2018.

The Summit shall be inaugurated by Mr. T. S. Vijayan, Chairman IRDAI. CMDs of various Insurance Companies both Life and Non-Life and CEOs of several Private Insurance Companies are expected to participate in the Summit. It is expected that about 400 delegates from Broker Member Organizations, Insurance Companies, Customers and other stakeholders from the Insurance Industry would be participating in the Summit. Financial security against unforeseen events and creation of value for the policyholder is the core objective of the insurance business. The major focus of our summit will be to discuss how the perceived role of brokers can change from offering traditional services to being perceived as trusted advisors on policyholder’s Risk management and insurance needs thereby maximizing value for policyholders.

The Insurance Brokers Association of India (IBAI) as the apex body of all insurance and reinsurance brokers in India, is committed to facilitate this by understanding the evolving needs of customers and the role of brokers in meeting these needs. Towards this, IBAI is working with various stakeholders, including customers, broker members, insurers, reinsurers, other industry players and the regulator to promote highest standards of professionalism among broker members and facilitate development of insurance industry.

Further, the summit provides an opportunity for various stakeholders to come together and discuss opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The agenda for the 14th Broker Summit has been framed keeping in mind the role of brokers in maximizing value for policyholders.

SUMMIT BACKGROUND

Insurance Brokers Association of India (IBAI) is the only apex body of licensed Insurance Brokers Recognized by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). As per Insurance Brokers Regulations 2013, all licensed brokers are required to be members of IBAI.

IBAI’s vision: To make broking a preferred channel for customers by promoting highest standards of professionalism among members.

IBAI’s main objectives are to promote interaction among the Broker Members and encourage, promote, facilitate and protect the interests of the members of IBAI and provide an avenue to the members for further education, and training in all fields of insurance & reinsurance and represent the interests of Brokers with other organizations.

IBAI is a member of Indian Merchants Chambers, Mumbai, Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mumbai, Confederation of Indian Industry and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Direct Insurance Brokers, Composite Insurance Brokers and Reinsurance Brokers (totaling to 402 licensed insurance brokers as on date) are members of IBAI. Only those insurance brokers who are licensed by the IRDAI are considered for admission into the membership of IBAI.
