SCHOOL TESTS
As you will all know, important tests are going ahead
in all schools across the country in the next few
weeks. The results that are gathered are used to
support ‘setting’ in the new school year and measure
progress. It is very important that every child
Has a good night’s sleep (of at least 10 hours)
A good breakfast
and is supported to try their very best and then
get on with enjoying the summer!
Thank you for helping us to support your child.
Competition Time
Each year The Royal British Legion organise a pilgrimage
for family and relatives of those killed in the Great War to
visit the battlefields, cemeteries and The Menin Gate
memorial at Ypres in Belgium. This year is the 90th
anniversary of this event and it is also the 100th
anniversary of the end of the war.
On 8th August, the chairman of the Redcar British Legion
Branch will be carrying the Standard for Redcar as they
march into Ypres to the Menin Gates to lay wreaths. He
would like their wreath to have a card with a hand written
message from a child in the Redcar and Cleveland area.
If you would like to design a card and write a message to
commemorate this anniversary please send your entries to
Miss English by Thursday 10th May, ready for judging on
Friday 11th May. Good luck!

East Cleveland Nugget Ride.
A huge well done to Kayden Keeler and Erin Lax from year
6, who took part in the junior version of the East Cleveland
Klondike race on Sunday.
They pedalled for a gruelling 15.5 miles facing a strong
wind, setting off from Brotton, travelling to Saltburn,
Boosbeck. Lingdale, Carlin How and back to Brotton. A
fantastic achievement!
Year 3 Tennis
A huge well done to our fabulous year 3 children
who took part in a Tennis Tournament on
Wednesday. They scored a fabulous 95 points to
win and face Handale in the finals next week.
Year 5 Hockey
A huge well done to our fabulous year 5 children
who took part in a Hockey tournament hosted at
Thornaby Academy. Both teams played
extremely well with team 1 qualifying to the next
round.
Team 1 played magnificently in the second round
and narrowly missed out in the semi-final to
Saltburn. Well done to all involved.
