Description: In this Permaculture course we will learn how to
create regenerative systems that provide for our basic needs wi-
thout comprimising the environment or future peoples ability to do
the same. Using a variety of learning techniques and strategies
this course presents Permaculture as an integrated design ap-
proach to create sustainable human habitat. This course will be
innovative in that not only will the course be about Permaculture,
but it will also model it by its structure and environment. Course
time will consist of traditional lectures, guest presentations, group
discussions, games, exercises, hands-on projects, photos, movies
and site visits. In addition to the classic PDC curriculum, the owner
-manager of Faasai Resort and Spa Bronwen Evans, a former
economics correspondent for Radio New Zealand will give a guest
lecture about alternative economics, and the staff of Faasai Resort
and Spa will demonstrate traditional farming techniques in Thai-
land.
Location: The course will take place at White Water
Lake, an integrated organic farm and nature sanctuary on the
southeast coast of Thailand which was established by Faasi Resort
and Spa.
Extras: Practical hands-on classes will include building a solar
panel, developing a grey water pit, building a spiral garden, worm
box and cultivating indigenous microorganisms.
Tuition: The course includes accommodation at the resort (2
persons sharing a room) plus three meals a day. The cost of the
course is US $875, with an early bird price of $795, which will be
available up until 23 June or until places run out (up to five early
