ENJOY OUR FIRST VIRTUAL EVENT ! Welcome to our first virtual celebration, Where All are Welcome. We are happy to connect with you and briefly discuss all the great work that is being done at St. Anthony Shrine, even in the midst of a global pandemic. We are most grateful to Liz Brunner for hosting and the special guests you will hear from tonight, including Cardinal Seán O’Malley, award- winning actress Ellen Pompeo, 2017 Pope Francis Award recipient Thomas N. O’Brien, Suffolk Construction CEO John Fish, and cellists Yo-Yo Ma and Owen Young. Thank you to our sponsors, whose support is critical for us to provide the more than two dozen ministries we offer, including our Women’s Medical Clinic, which you will hear about tonight. It is fitting that this event be held on a day devoted to our Blessed Mother, who was known for her unyielding faith, humility and willingness to answer God’s call — the same characteristics exhibited by our founder, St. Francis. We hope you will enjoy the program and thank you for supporting St. Anthony Shrine, the Church on Arch Street. With humble gratitude, I am Sincerely yours in St. Francis, Fr. Thomas E Conway, OFM Executive Director Founded in 1947 by the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province, and inspired by the enduring legacy of St. Francis of Assisi, lover of the poor and the alienated, St. Anthony Shrine, the Church on Arch Street, provides a convenient, safe, welcoming and prayerful setting for people desiring to praise and worship God. A beacon of hope in Downtown Boston for those who seek compassion, respect and acceptance, the Shrine is much more than Mass and confession. We offer more than two dozen ministries, including: the Father Mychal Judge Recovery Center for those on the road from addiction to recovery; the Lazarus program, which provides a dignified and respectful funeral and burial for abandoned babies and the homeless; the Franciscan Food Center, through which more than 400 individuals and families a week receive nutritious groceries in a dignified setting; and the Emmaus Ministry for grieving parents. St. Anthony Shrine invites you to help us reach out to the poor and marginalized and to lift up the dignity of all human life. Your support makes a difference in the lives of all those whom we serve. We are happy to connect with you and briefly discuss all the great work that is being done at St. Anthony Shrine, even in the midst of a global pandemic.

Founded in 1947 by the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province, and inspired by the enduring legacy of St. Francis of Assisi, lover of the poor and the alienated, St. Anthony Shrine, the Church on Arch Street, provides a convenient, safe, welcoming and prayerful setting for people desiring to praise and worship God.
