Did You Ever See a Turkey? (Tune: "Did You Ever See A Lassie?")

Did you ever see a turkey, a turkey, a turkey,

Did you ever see a turkey run this way and that?

He runs, and he runs, and he runs, and he runs!

To keep from being dinner on Thanksgiving Day!

The Turkey

The turkey is a funny bird. (Hook thumbs together and spread fingers to create turkey tail)

Its head goes wobble, wobble (Wobble head back and forth) And all it knows is just one word: (Hold up one finger)

"Gobble, gobble, gobble." (Make mouth shape with hand, opening and closing it while sounding like a turkey)

I'm a Turkey (Tune: "Yankee Doodle")

I'm a turkey, big and fat. (Spread arms out) I spread my tail. I walk like that.

(Fan fingers like a turkey's tail; Waddle) Each day's corn I will not miss, (Rub stomach)

And when I talk, I sound like this: (Point to lips; Cup hand next to ear) GOBBLE! GOBBLE! GOBBLE! (Shout)

God's Blessings (Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star")

We are thankful for the ways that God's blessed us all today. Thanks for moms and dads so dear. Thanks for food

and clothes we wear. We are thankful for the ways that God's blessed us all today. Father, We Thank Thee.

Father, we thank Thee for the night, and for the pleasant morning light, for rest and food and loving care, and all that

makes the world so fair. Help us to do the things we should, to be to others kind and good, In all we do, in all we

say, to grow more loving every day.

Albuquerque is a Turkey (Tune: "Clementine")

Albuquerque is a turkey, and he's feathered and he's fine. And he wobbles and he gobbles, and he's absolutely

mine. He's the best pet that you can get, better than a dog or cat. He’s my Albuquerque turkey, and I'm very proud of that. He once told me, very frankly, he preferred to be my pet-- Not the main course at my dinner, and I told him not to fret. Now my Albuquerque turkey is so happy in his bed,

cause for our Thanksgiving dinner, we had egg foo yong instead!

Hello Mr. Turkey (Tune: "If You're Happy and You Know It" )

Hello, Mr. Turkey how are you? Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you? With a gobble, gobble, gobble, And a wobble, wobble, wobble.

Who Am I? (Tune: "Mary Had a Little Lamb")

See my feathers colored bright,

Colored bright, colored bright.

See my feathers colored bright

What a pretty sight.

See my tummy big and fat,

Big and fat, Big and fat,

See my tummy big and fat

What do you think of that?

See my head look all around,

Look all around, all around,

See my head look all around,

For corn up on the ground.

See me as I strut and sway,

Strut and sway, strut and sway

See me as I strut and sway

This is what I say: Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

Page 4: Thanksgiving Song Book

Little Turkeys (Tune: "This old Man")

Little turkeys walking by,

They can move from side to side

With a wobble here and a wobble there.

They can wobble everywhere.

Little turkeys making sounds.

They can talk as they move around

With a gobble here and a gobble there,

They can gobble everywhere!

Hello Mr. Turkey (Tune: "If You're Happy and You Know It")

Hello, Mr. Turkey how are you? Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you?

His feet go wobble, wobble And his head goes Gobble, Gobble.

Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you?

If You're Thankful and You Know It (Tune: "If You're Happy and You Know It")

If you're thankful and you know it, clap your hands. If you're thankful and you know it, clap your hands.

If you're thankful and you know it, Then your face will surely show it.

If you're thankful and you know it, clap your hands. If you're thankful and you know it, stomp your feet. If you're thankful and you know it, stomp your feet.

If you're thankful and you know it, stomp your feet. If you're thankful and you know it, shout, "I am!" If you're thankful and you know it, shout, "I am!"

If you're thankful and you know it, Then your face will surely show it.

If you're thankful and you know it, shout, "I am!" If you're thankful and you know it, do all three. If you're thankful and you know it, do all three.

If you're thankful and you know it, Then your face will surely show it.

If you're thankful and you know it, do all three.
