THAT Council approve the preparation of a Downtown Places and Spaces Strategy, in accordance with the work program and budget outlined in Appendix A.

FURTHER THAT funding sources for this work program budget will be in 2017:

• $250,000 from the 2017 City-wide Operating Budget

• $100,000 from the Engineering Operating Budget; and,

And the $570,000 required in 2018 be brought forward as part of the 2018 operating budget process. 3

Will recognize that great public places are made up of wonderful spaces

Consistent with Council motion to prepare Downtown Public Space Plan
