PASTORAL REFLECTIONS

There has been countless number of miraculous messages and testimonies as far as Divine Mercy is concerned of people who might have encountered the Mercy of Christ in different ways. Some pray for healing, marriage stability, secured job, for children to return to the faith, childbirth, increase in vocations to the Priesthood and consecrated life, safe travel, and all

kinds of requests. One key reason as to why Christ granted Sister Faustina the grace of the vision of the Divine Mercy was to show her the burning desire of His Heart, which is continuously calling people to come and experience His Divine forgiveness. In Sister Faustina’s diary number 699, Christ said “On that day all divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My Mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or an angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exist has come forth from the very depths of My most tender Mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My Love and Mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the First Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.”

This year, it will be observed on Sunday, April 8th, at 2:00 pm at St. Mary’s Church. There will be a procession and Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament, talk on Divine Mercy, Chaplet of Mercy and Veneration of the first class relic of Saint Faustina. Please make every effort to attend and do not squander the blessings which God wishes to make available to us.

Again I would like to say a big thank you to my brother Priests, Fathers John Kyere and Gustavo Lopez, to all the staff, all the ministers of our parish, to all parishioners and to all who made this Easter celebration a memorable one. May the risen Christ bless you.

2018 ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal provides help to those in need! Together, we can and do make a profound difference in the lives of many individuals and families, in a way that exceeds anything we could hope to achieve on our own. Please consider supporting this important initiative. Every gift makes a difference. Organizations such as the Combined Churches Food Bank, Emergency Fuel Bank, the Shelter, & the Friendship Center right here in our own town received funding from the Appeal’s Vicariate Outreach Program which serves our local neighbors.
