Since 2009 customers haveenjoyed the benefits of aPallite® versus wood (savingmoney on transport,eliminating contaminationfrom splinters and nails andusing a sustainable palletthat can be recycled post useto name a few benefits).

Range

Pallite® is the new robust andultra-lightweight alternative topallets, pallet boards and palletboxes. Made from paper andglue, it is available in Euro, UKstandard and numerousbespoke shapes and sizes.

We can provide several deck versions with a stackingstrength of up to seven tonnes (static), a maximum liftingload of 1,000kg and 750kg ‘SWL’ in open beamed racking(load type dependent).

Anything from 4.5kg, the Pallite®pallet can weigh as little as a ¼ ofthe weight of its woodencounterpart with the added benefitof being 100% recyclable, offeringyou a complete solution.

The Pal l ite® ExplainedThe pallet design consists of many elements, which has itsown terminology and jargon. A pallet is described by its size,its components and materials.

DECK – Is the component of our Pallite®that your products are loaded onto.Manufactured from honeycomb fibre‘cells’ and lined with wet strength kraftpapers for maximum moisture resistanceand performance. Honeycomb boarddecks provide a flat, slat free surface.Pallites® decks are all a nominal 25mmthick. Medium and Heavy deck optionsare available. No ‘layer’ or ‘pallet’ boardsrequired as they are sometimes usedwith wooden and plastic pallet versionsas there are no gaps for product to fallthrough.

PALLRUN BEARERS – Twolaminated ‘U’ profiles bondedtogether to encase the tubes.PallRun bearers can bemanufactured to suit all standardpallet sizes and requirements.Special sizes can also be produced.The Standard height being 120mm(lower height available to helpcreate more space), 90mm wideand lengths to suit the application.Tubes are spaced every 100mm formaximum load carrying capability.

TUBES – The spirally wound tubes foundinside the PallRuns, add impressive verticalstrength. They are made with laminatedlayers of fibreboard to exact sizespecifications so they give consistentperformance and fit snugly inside thePallRun.

EDGE PROTECTION – used toprotect the deck for when thepallet load needs to be strapped tothe pallet itself.

The Pal l ite® Explained

CONVEYOR FRAME – Flat, 100mm wide laminated fibreboards that can beadded to the base of the PallRuns, so Pallites® can be used on conveyorsystems and palletisers. Wooden versions are referred to as ‘stringers’.Available on four & two way Pallite® versions and as a full or part frame inseveral different varieties for UK standard, Euro and bespoke pallet sizes.

Utilising the honeycomb technology we are able tomanufacture a stackable pallet box in varying dimensionsto suit most needs.

COLLAPSIBLE PALLET BOX

Easy to store and assemble, this pallet box isavailable in various dimensions. With a25mm thick wall it also offers greatprotection when compared to acorrugated version.

This design comes in two formats:

ECONOMY LID – for those loads that do notrequire to be double stacked

In tests the honeycomb wall addedbetter insulative properties to the loadwhen compared to normal corrugated.By adding further insulative andcooling materials we are now able tooffer a competitively priced insulativepallet box.

PERFECT FOR AIRFREIGHTING FOOD GOODSPallite® have partnered with suppliers from the XPS, Insulative Liner and Gel Packindustries so are able to offer standard and bespoke solutions that fit ourcustomers’ financials and physical requirements.

For the lighter boxed loads where a pallet is required but the cost

makes it impractical, our pall run foot solution is ideal for

transforming a corrugated box into a pallet box.

The feet can be supplied with strong double sided tape for easy and

flexible attachment.

the ideal solution for an instant pallet box.

By double stacking loadsyou can in manycircumstances halve yourtransportation costs.However, this can mean theload becomes unstable orthe product gets damaged.

By adding a pallet layer board,you can stabilise the load andalso prevent damage to the boxes/ load below.The Pallite® Board is 25mm thickso offers substantially moreprotection when compared to acardboard sheet and weighingless than 2kg, it is much lighterthan a chipboard separator.

Pallites® are made up of three elements – RecycledPaper, Kraft Paper and Adhesive.

THE PAPERThis raw material originates fromthe corrugated and cartonindustry and is widely available.We don’t use any writing or printpaper, so the card is not fragileand the trees the card is pulpedfrom are a specially grown breedfor paper making, so nothardwoods from rainforests.

THE GLUEAll components are laminatedtogether and assembled intopallets using a PVA adhesive aswidely used in most packagingsectors that supply the food andpharmaceutical sectors.

Automotive Case Study

A second tier automotive manufacturerhad experienced significantmanufacturing issues in their ownfacility which put them behind schedulefor the assembly customer.

The wooden oversize pallet used wasprohibitive for use in airfreight, (highcost) which was their only choice toensure continuity of supply as theirconventional shipping route was nolonger possible in the timeframe.

We were asked by a packing supplier ofa major food manufacturer to look at aPaper alternative to wooden pallets,which were causing quality complaintsdue to splinters and nails.

The load the pallet needed to carry is asingle ‘big bag’ where the materialcarried is granulated and acts the sameas a liquid.

While the load itself is 1,000kg, this load typeis particularly difficult for a typical fibreboardpallet.The pallets are used to export the goods allover the world and can sit in containers intransit for many weeks.

Our (heavy deck) UK Standard pallet has beenindependently tested in all aspects of use by SCALaboratories – details available upon request.

Our (heavy deck) UK Standard pallet has also undergonestringent transit & vibration testing, conducted by PIRA toASTM D4169-09 standards.
