The 2012 Govier Family Pictogram There comes a certain time in life when it’s all about the grandchildren. We reached that point two years ago, and their number has been growing. Our biggest goal of 2012 was to try to get them all together. We achieved that goal in May, when everyone came home for Sam’s high school graduation party. Pictured (left to right) are Eden, Lana, and Anna. Next below is Brian, Anna, and Mika celebrating Anna’s first birthday in November. Then Drew, Candess, and Eden from a visit in October. Eden is now 1½. And then a photo of Sara, Ryan, Lana, and Audrey. Audrey was born on November 7th, and Lana is now almost 2½ years old. The second biggest question of the year, after whether everyone could make it in May, was where Sam was going to college. He applied at sev- eral schools but the University of Wisconsin-Madison seemed to be the best fit. We moved him into the Elizabeth Waters dorm in mid-August and he seems to be doing quite well (photo at bottom, right). His room- mate, Yudong, is from Shenyang, China. Sam is majoring in Math, is a member of the University Choir, and also active in the InterVarsity chapter. We managed to go to a football game together at the beginning of the year and he comes home for visits every other week or so. Anne changed jobs this year and is now working as a nanny for a beautiful little girl named Lillian, who is about 8 months old. We are able to ride into work together on many days. She drops me off at InterVarsity, and then I bike home at the end of the day. In addition to the regular bike commutes I was able to take a few longer bike trips this year and finally was able to realize my dream of riding the Elroy– Sparta trail. That was a solo trip, but I also traveled several other local bike trails with a group of my fellow InterVarsity staffers. I hope I can take some even longer trips in 2013. My job at InterVarsity continues to be exciting and enjoyable. Exciting because InterVarsity is experiencing some of its best years ever in cam- pus ministry but we also face some of our toughest challenges. I’ve been spending more time in media relations, and more people are learning about the work of InterVarsity. We are blessed in many ways and so thankful that you are a part of our lives. We wish you a blessed 2013. Gordon & Anne Gordon & Anne Gordon & Anne Gordon & Anne

The 2012 Govier Family Pictogram There comes a certain time in life when it’s all about the grandchildren.

We reached that point two years ago, and their number has been growing.

Our biggest goal of 2012 was to try to get them all together. We achieved

that goal in May, when everyone came home for Sam’s high school

graduation party. Pictured (left to right) are Eden, Lana, and Anna.

Next below is Brian, Anna, and Mika celebrating Anna’s first birthday

in November. Then Drew, Candess, and Eden from a visit in October.

Eden is now 1½. And then a photo of Sara, Ryan, Lana, and Audrey.

Audrey was born on November 7th, and Lana is now almost 2½ years

old.

The second biggest question of the year, after whether everyone could

make it in May, was where Sam was going to college. He applied at sev-

eral schools but the University of Wisconsin-Madison seemed to be the

best fit. We moved him into the Elizabeth Waters dorm in mid-August

and he seems to be doing quite well (photo at bottom, right). His room-

mate, Yudong, is from Shenyang, China.

Sam is majoring in Math, is

a member of the University Choir,

and also active in the InterVarsity

chapter. We managed to go to a

football game together at the

beginning of the year and he comes

home for visits every other week or

so.

Anne changed jobs this year and

is now working as a nanny for a

beautiful little girl named Lillian,

who is about 8 months old. We are able to ride into work together on

many days. She drops me off at InterVarsity, and then I bike home at the

end of the day.

In addition to the regular bike commutes I was able to take a few longer

bike trips this year and finally was able to realize my dream of riding the

Elroy– Sparta trail. That was a solo trip, but I also traveled several other

local bike trails with a group of my fellow InterVarsity staffers. I hope I

can take some even longer trips in 2013.

My job at InterVarsity continues to be exciting and enjoyable. Exciting

because InterVarsity is experiencing some of its best years ever in cam-

pus ministry but we also face some of our toughest challenges. I’ve been

spending more time in media relations, and more people are learning

about the work of InterVarsity.

We are blessed in many ways and so thankful that you are a part of our

lives. We wish you a blessed 2013.
