• 88 essays submitted: 15 from trainees for whom English is not the primary language

• Essays are scored on the basis of originality, style and composition, critical reflection/reflective capacity, and impact on the readers

• The author’s identity is anonymous to the judges• Each essay is scored by 2 judges. Essays scoring in the

top quartile are nominated to the Essay Oversight Committee

• The Essay Oversight Committee voted on winners and honorable mentions
