Welcome to the 2007 Western Region 4-H Forum, hosted by Arizona 4-H volunteer leaders and youth! We are in the process of planning and organizing this event, which will take place in the beautiful city of Phoe-nix. The 14 western states will be represented, in addition to U.S. territories in Guam, and certain Canadian provinces. In 1997 Arizona last hosted the Forum and we look forward to your involvement in 2007!Special Announcements: Early Bird Registration has been extended! Early Bird Registrations must now be post marked by no later that Tuesday, October 31st. Hurry and get yours in today to take advantage of this great opportunity! The extension is retroactive. Regular Registrations must still be post marked by Wednesday, November 15th, and Late Registration ends December 1st.Please Note: The Sunday Night Closing Banquet is included in the price of Early Bird, Regular, and Late Registrations. The Additional Meal Tickets available for purchase on the Registration form are for guests.

ATV SAFETY TRAINING WORKSHOP & SLOGANS

The ATV Safety Workshop conducted by the Graham County Teen Council was a great success. We had participants from the age of 5 up, and from as far as Tucson and Silver City, New Mexico. Many thanks need to go to our out-standing volunteers and collaborators: Cochise County Search and Rescue, Gra-

ham County Search and Rescue, Drew and the Crew, Desert Riders Motor Sports, Gila Valley Cycle and Ski, Eastern Arizona Ag Center, Inc., Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, State Parks and Recreation, Southwest Ambulance Service, Lindsey Foods, Eastern Ari-zona Courier, Lee Clark, Cindy Pear-son and her BBQ crew, and ALL the 4-H TEENS, 4-H members, leaders, friends, and families that helped make the first Graham County 4-H ATV Safety Workshop something to be proud of.

Gather with top 4-H members from around the country in Atlanta Georgia for National 4-H Con-gress. Tour the area, meet with national 4-H sponsors and in general have a great time. National Congress offers interactive leadership experience through quality educational and cross cultural experiences. There are seminars, discussion groups and a service learning experience, which bring home ideas that you can implement into your 4-H club and community. Outstanding speakers and educators are brought in by the "Design Team" made up of youth and adults. 4-H Completer Requirements 2006 1. Attend 75% Project Club Meetings. 2. Attend 75% Community Club Meetings (9 are held 7 = 75%). Or 6 community club meetings with 2 hours of documented community service pre-approved and signed, by your leader, Or 5 community club meetings with 4 hours of documented community service pre-approved and signed, by your leader. (Must attend entire event to receive credit, one community club credit can be from another county’s community club, if documented correctly.)

3. Demonstration/Informative Speech - County level (in your project area). Must attended entire event to receive credit. Demonstration/Informative speech must be given at one of the scheduled demonstration/informative speech days. DEMONSTRATIONS A demonstration puts words into action. An effective demonstration teaches others how to do something by showing while telling -- and showing really is worth a thousand words. At the end of a demonstration, you should have a finished product to show to your audience. INFORMATIVE SPEECH An informative speech tells about something. Topic must be 4-H project related. It also uses visual aids and should include a minimum of three posters, slides, or other visuals. 4. TWO other County 4-H Events A. Fundraiser B. Spring/Summer Fair C. Parades
