You must wear…

• WEAR the following at all times during the walk:-a) Thermal base layer or t-shirt (not a singlet type).b) Thermal long sleeved shirt.c) Long trousers or breeches (below knee)(not jeans).

Where track suit type trousers or "thin” material trousers are worn, thermal "long johns" must also be worn / carried*

If weather conditions are considered suitable, shorts may be worn (decision on the day)*

d) Boots which have been specifically designed for hiking or specialist fell running shoes or boots.*

You must wear or carry..

e) Balaclava or hat which covers the ears.

f) Fleece top plus spare sweater/sweatshirt.*

g) Mitts or gloves (not fingerless type).

h) Waterproof outer garment with hood (not just showerproof).

i) Waterproof overtrousers.

Suitability of gear…

• Suitability of equipment/conditions for Rules 4 (c)Trousers,(e)Hat,&(g)Gloves will be entirely at the discretion of the Inspection Teams. If in doubt, bring alternatives.

Carry

• Drink

• Silva type compass.

• Torch

• Reflective Disc (supplied at the Start)

• Bivi Bag

• Mug

• Pencil and note book.

• Emergency food pack contained in a sealed polythene bag comprising of the following minimum essentials:- Glucose, nuts, raisins, sweets or chocolate, beverage, etc, suitable for twelve hours.

Team Kit

a) One sleeping bag (Adult size).

b) One "emergency shelter" (also known as a KISU or BLOKKA bag), or alternatively, a tent with sewn in groundsheet, with or without poles or pegs. Either item must be made of suitable material to withstand gale force winds and of a size sufficient to cover all team members.

c) "Chemi light" (Supplied at the Start).

d) Red LED light (Supplied en route as appropriate) for use after dark.

e) Map for top and lower sections of the walk**

f) First Aid kit containing as a minimum, a good supply of plasters, crepe bandage and three large triangular bandages. It must be kept in a waterproof bag/box.

g) Mobile phone – switched on and operational - with Central Control Number programmed in.
