Cloud 9 Ranch

Conservation News

The Cloud 9 Ranch Conservation Committee

is out in full force this time of year. Arch-ery Season for deer hunting will kick off on

September 15th. This part of deer season will run through November 11th.

Cloud 9 Ranch Conservation Committee

would like to ask you to hunt with safety in

mind. Both with your stand and your bow or firearm.

Archery Considerations

Bow hunting is one of he fastest growing

hunting sports today. Interestingly, it was

developed right here in Missouri. In 1946,

less than 100 participated in the first arch-

ery hunt while today the number is more

than 100,000 with hunters using either

compound bows, longbows or recurve bows

and crossbows. (info provided by MDC)

Purple Martin House Cleaning Time!

For years, the Cloud 9 Ranch Conservation Committee has dedicated many

hours of their time and energy to caring for and maintaining the Purple Martin colony on the Ranch. The Purple Martin is one of the friendliest

songbirds to have around. They do not mind housing close to populated ar-eas and do an excellent job of eating insects such as mosquitoes. There is

a great deal of preparation and planning that is done in order to keep the Purple Martins com-

ing back year after year. It is now time for the end of season clean up to begin. This year,

Chico will be in charge of making sure the Mar-tin houses come down for the cleaning and

storage at the end of the season. If you would like to lend a helping hand, do not be

afraid to volunteer. The Conservation Commit-tee will be meeting on Tuesday, September

20th in the pavilion at 6pm.

Not enough words can be said to really describe the Cloud 9 Ranch employee.

Most of the employees are members and the ones that are not eventually become a member. Why is that? Because it takes a special kind of person to work at

Cloud 9 Ranch. You have to love your job and love this place. Cloud 9 Ranch is unique and the workers here will most likely never work any place else that will demand as much compassion and understanding as a Cloud 9 Ranch employee.

On September 10th, Cloud 9 Ranch held the Employee Appreciation Dinner and Chili Cook Off. Many employees and their families attended the celebration. Spe-

cial awards were given out to individuals for their work performance. However, every employee of Cloud 9 Ranch has contributed to the vast improvements that have taken place in the last few months. You may think it is just a job for Cloud 9

Ranch employees, but rest assured, for most of them it is not. The Trading Post has striven to improve the selection of items that is carried for our members. The

Restaurant has seen many changes and food quality and service as became top notch. The gate girls have had to implement new changes in security and have done so while still maintaining a smile as they check in Ranch Members…..even

when computer issues have bogged down the process. The house keeping team has done an excellent job of keeping up with one of the busiest rental seasons.

They have also implemented a plan that allows rentals to be cleaned and rebooked faster which allows the Ranch to rebook faster than what was done in the past.

The maintenance crew has done a great job at getting the new rental cabins ready. Cloud 9 is not just a camping resort. We are also a ranch with a vast amount of natural resources. The resource development crew works non-stop

with grounds work, field development, event venue and other behind the scenes jobs that make Cloud 9 Ranch beautiful and more profitable from a ranch perspec-

tive. The same goes for the men that work with the Ranch equipment and me-chanical repairs from the Ranch shop building. As you show your support to Cloud 9 Ranch,

Thank those men and women from the Gate to the Gas Station that step up each day to

make things work here. Every employee here strives to do their best to make Cloud 9 Ranch the very best vacation and investment for

Cloud 9 Ranch Members.
