Welcome to the 9th BACK TO THE BASICS Production sale. The consignors have once again assembled a tremendous set of heifer calves, yearlings, proven cows and bulls. These cattle are designed to work in the commercial or purebred industry carrying some of the most current and proven genetics in the Hereford breed. The cattle industry continues to show strength and tremendous opportunities for producers. This fall has seen strong prices for feeder calves and yearlings. Prices that haven't been seen in numerous years!!! The price for market cows have also strengthened allowing producers a tremendous opportunity to purchase young new genetics to replace these cows. There is an increasing demand for cattle that are efficient, have longevity and a great temperament. The cattle assembled on November 13th have been selected and bred with these traits in mind. Like other years the cattle selling will be preg checked and vaccinated. Thank-you to all the past bidders, and supporters of past sales. Your interest and support is greatly appreciated!! It has been very rewarding to see how the cattle from the past sales of gone on and performed for their new owners. Cattle from past sales have made an impact in the show ring, commercial sale ring and most importantly in the pasture field.

If you have any questions about the cattle selling, just want to talk about the cattle industry or can't be with us sale day feel free to contact any of the consignors. November 13th, if you are looking for one new animal or a group of females for your operation, feel confident that the cattle offered will add value to your operation.

SEE YOU NOVEMEBER 13th IN LISTOWEL!!!

Toni is an eye-appealing thickly-made deep-bodied calf with lots of pigmentation. Her sire Traveler has produced sons and daughters that are breed changers and show champions.

G & E Polled Herefords started with one cow in 1963 and the herd grew to 48 cows in the 80's. Since the 90's we have reduced the herd slowly to continue our involvement to enjoy the herefords and the people. These heifers are the result of years of breeding to nationally known sires, and good mother cows. I hope you find one which will fit into your herd.

We are thrilled to once again be consigning to the Back to Basic's Sale. This year we are offering a variety of females, a bred yearling, two late May 2008 bred females who will be having their first calves in 2011, as well as a mature deep bodied cow with a proven track record. We are also very excited to be partners with Kevin Aitken - Maple Dale Farms on Elm-LodgeWi Fi 27W. Wi Fi is a SHF Rib Eye M326 R117 son out of the well known female Elm Lodge Loveletter 15L. As you know Loveletter is the dam of Next Big Thing and Paycheck, who have done so well for Elm Lodge. Wi Fi arrived at our farm on May 28 and has covered most of our herd including 3 of the females in the sale. We are very excited to see his calves next spring. Look forward to seeing everyone on November 13th.

Welcome,it’s once again great to be part of the Back to Basics sale this year. Realizing there has been enough to get discouraged over in the beef industry, the past year with feed quality, weather and markets to name a few, I do believe that those of you who purchase from this year’s sale are positioning yourselves for much better times just around the corner! We have had much positive feedback from last year’s customers and have continued to sell bulls all year, proof our program is working for others. I want to make sure it continues that way, so if I can be of any help, or you have any problems with your purchases let me be the first one to know and make it right. We have something for all in this year’s offering and I look forward to seeing you November 14th in Listowel.

Wow, the first Absolute 2 yr olds have done a great job! We have flushed the 210L cow twice to Absolute, so we can have more young cows like 210U. Now add in the power and depth of Vision’s pedigree Lauren 128X is as good as it gets. She is long made an with ample natural thickness. I think she could show next year and make a great cow when her time comes. This is the top of our program and will be the top of your program too!

A real thick son of Pounder. This bull calf weighed 85 lbs at birth. He won Champion Bull at Paris fair this fall, and did well at other shows. If you are looking for a bull to breed your heifers this bull would make a ideal candidate. His Maternal sister 29W is also in the sale.

Once again we offer you a great set of cattle that should be functional and very productive. The bred heifers are an exceptional group. The heifers sired by the Triumph bull are particularly good. If you check out the milk EPD's and the maternal productive index on these cattle, you will be hard pressed to find cattle with a better set of numbers. We think that the open heifers are a great group that would make you some really great cows and could also make a great set of show heifers too. The cow/calf pair is a very good example of what our breeding program is all about. Check out the udder under her. Again, we think this is a very functional set of cattle and they should go on to work in any purebred or commercial operation.

One of the highlights of the year for us is selecting and assembling the cattle for the annual sale. We are very thankful to be able to be apart of the sale but more importantly for the support that the breeders and cattlemen have shown in our program.

Each year our offering focuses on proven genetics. This year we are offering 7 proven cows that are in the prime of their lives. 4 of the cows in this years offering have produced a sale feature and high selling female in a past sale. The yearling heifer and heifer calves are the 1st opportunity to purchase daughters from our new herd sire TOP GUN T10. The fall females have gained in popularity each year and this years offering is our most powerful yet!!! Check out Dolly 71W she is one of the most powerful females we have ever offered. For the 1st time we are offering 4 Hereford Angus cross heifers that are bred to an easy calving angus bull for April calves. These cattle are fresh and coming to the sale right off grass. They will continue to perform and improve for their new owners.

As in past years the cattle offered will be preg checked, halter broke and vaccinated. If you have any questions feel free to call.
