What is a Linchpin?

We Have Three Questions to Answer

We held sessions at the past four AAI global conferences where participants debated different ideas and proposals.

We have taken all of these inputs into account and condensed them into a single proposal.

•  What are AIESEC Alumni values?

•  How do we encourage alumni to live by these values?

•  How should we react to those that don’t?

What are AIESEC Alumni Values?

Activating Leadership

Demonstrating Integrity

Living Diversity

Enjoying Participation

Striving for Excellence

AIESEC provides its members with a foundation of core values that helps them develop into responsible leaders.

Alumni carry these values throughout their lives, empowering them to make responsible decisions that positively impact the world.

When signing up for AlumNet, the terms and conditions of use will include a copy of the text we are calling AIESEC Values for Alumni. Once you indicate that you are an AA entity leader, you will receive a notification of the AIESEC Values for AA Leaders, encouragin you to think and act accordingly.

How Do We Encourage Alumni to Live by These Values?

How Do We Encourage Alumni to Live by These Values?

Once you’re a member on AlumNet, your profile will feature positive comments from other alumni on the way you live your life under AIESEC Values.

Extraordinary cases may even be promoted through newsletters and conferences, inspiring others to make a positive impact on society.

An AA member could “file a grievance” against any AlumNet registrant alleging a “major violation” of AIESEC Alumni values if they believe there was intent and

awareness on the part of the offending alum and if there were perceived damages.

How to React to AIESEC Alumni who do not Live by our Values?

Step 1: Parties take responsibility for settling it.

• The relevant NAA or RAA or AAI invites the parties to negotiate and reconcile on their own terms. • We may create

an reconciliation document in line with AIESEC values.

Only if needed, Step 2: Ad hoc mediation

• If the parties do not reconcile, the EB invites the parties to appoint two friendly mediators as referees. • These mediators may be AA members selected by

each of the parties in dispute, one by each party.

• A third mediator should be selected by these two mediators and they should look for agreement and finally decide by voting. • The intention of such mediators and the process

they follow should be to solve or fix the dispute in the most efficient way, making sure they follow AIESEC values.

Only if needed, Step 3: As a last resort, escalate to AA leadership

• AIESEC Alumni will address on case-by-case basis and will form policy on this over time based on our experience.

Thank you!
